In its continued response to the impacts of COVID-19, the City of Dallas has created a temporary parklet program to assist local businesses with their economic recovery.

COVID-19 Temporary Parklet Update

Restaurants may operate for dine-in service up to 50 percent of the total listed occupancy inside the restaurant.  Restaurant employees and contractors are not counted towards the occupancy limitation. Outdoor dining is not subject to an occupancy limit.

1. Gather Information Required on Application

Complete a site plan and secure property authorizations if applicable. Please see Guidebook for site plan requirements.

2. Complete Application

Complete and submit the application within a minimum of three days prior to the first day of setup of your temporary parklet.  Incomplete applications will not be processed.

3. Pay Application Processing Fees

All application processing fees must be paid to secure your dates, parklet location, and begin the permit approval process. OSE will send you an invoice via email.

4. Complete All Requirements

Submit compliant certificate of insurance, secure additional permits and provide notification. Please reference the Guidebook for details.

5. Permit Issuance & Final Conditions

Upon  confirming all requirements have been met, the Office of Special Events will issue the permit.  The permit will  list the conditions and/or restrictions for which the applicant must uphold. It is imperative to read the permit very carefully to understand all of the final conditions.
