This annual recurring event allows 100 graduating seniors to “march” their college admission applications to the mailbox on the corner of Elm Street & N. Good Latimer Expressway. Elm Street will be flanked on both sides by the 6th-11th graders who will be cheering the seniors on as they proceed to the mailbox. The 6th-11th graders will begin pouring out of the Uplift Luna Preparatory Secondary School building to line Elm Street just before 11 a.m. and Elm Street will require a hard closure between N. Crowdus Street and N. Good Latimer Expressway for approximately one hour beginning at 10:45 a.m. The seniors will begin their march promptly at 11 a.m. Elm Street will reopen, and the 6th-11th graders will return to the building once the last senior has passed. The senior students will march west on Elm Street beginning at N. Crowdus Street, end the route at N. Good Latimer Expressway and return to the school via sidewalks and pedestrian rights of ways. There will be neither food nor beverages at this event and stages and tents are not required. Estimated attendance is 1,100.
