The annual Riverfront Jazz Festival is hosted at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL) and the Kay Bay Hutchison Convention Center Dallas (KBHCCD). This three-day event is indoors and includes live musical performances by local and national music artist, and merchandise, food and beverage (alcoholic) sales. Friday: the doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the last performance ends at 10:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday: the doors open at noon and the last performance ends at 10 p.m. This permit covers the street closure required to accommodate the food trucks. The Food Trucks arrive on site by 2 p.m. Friday and remain in place until 10 p.m. Sunday. Food trucks will be staged in the Akard Street cutout and along Canton Street. A full closure of Canton Street from Akard Street to Griffin Street will be in effect from 2 p.m. Friday through midnight Sunday to accommodate the food trucks; no parking of vehicles is permitted within the street closure. The freeway on-ramp will be accessible at the corner of Akard Street and Canton Street. The teardown will be complete, and the streets will reopen by midnight Sunday, September 1.
