Hillcrest High School PTSA is hosting their annual Homecoming Parade. This free event includes a one-mile parade. The route will start at 5:15 p.m. at the coroner of Lakehurst Avenue and Airline Road; south on Airline Road; right on Aberdeen Avenue; right on Hillcrest Road; right on Meadow Road; right on Airline Road dispersing in the parking lot of Franklin Field. Setup begins at 4:45 p.m. with the staging on participants and vehicles. Teardown will be complete and street closure apparatus will be removed by 6 p.m.

This annual fundraiser for J.L. Long Middle School includes a 5K and 1K that begin and ends on school grounds followed by festivities, with live music, amplified sound, and food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. No tents or stages are required. The 1K starts at 5:30 p.m. and travels southeast on Paulus Avenue, right on Covington Lane, right on Glasgow Drive, left on Columbia Avenue, right on Juliette Fowler Street, and right on Reiger Avenue to finish. The 5K starts at 6 p.m. and travels southeast on Paulus Avenue, right on Covington Lane, right on Glasgow Drive, right on Victor Street, left on Paulus Avenue, right on Tremont Street, right on LaVista Drive, right on West Shore Drive, right on Santa Fe Trail, right on S Glasgow drive, and right on Reiger Avenue to finish. Setup begins at 4 pm. Teardown will be complete, and street closure apparatus will be picked up by 8 p.m.
This permit is for the closure of Clark Street from Woodall Rodgers Freeway to Thomas Avenue for an event at Griggs Clark Street from Woodall Rodgers Freeway to Thomas Avenue will close from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Oct. 10. Ingress and egress will be allowed to all residents. Setup in Griggs Park begins at 9 a.m. on Oct. 9 with the erection of a stage (32’x60’x31”) and tents (one – 10’x20’ and six – 10’x10’), and teardown will be complete by 11:45 p.m.
This is a new weekly Artisan Market series organized by Boho Market Group and hosted by Billingsley Company. The recurring Friday market at The Sound Cypress Waters is free and open to the public and features amplified sound and up to 30 vendors selling local handcrafted and vintage home goods, art and apparel. There is no food/beverage sales or distribution. Setup starts at 1 p.m. with the erection of vendor pop-up tents (up to 30 – 10’x10’) and teardown will be complete by 10:15 p.m. A private security contractor will provide onsite security guards. A special event permit is issued for a period not to exceed 10 consecutive days, and this series will require permit extensions through the projected October 25, 2019 series end date. Requirements will be reevaluated with each extension and will be adjusted as the market scope changes. Extensions are not guaranteed.
Lone Star Circus Art Center, Inc. is hosting a circus at The Dallas Farmers Market with daily shows from Wednesday October 9 through Sunday, October 13. This event is open to the public and requires purchased tickets. This event will include live performances, amplified sound and merchandise (circus themed toys and handheld lights) sales. Food and beverage (alcoholic) will be sold. Setup will start at 9 a.m. October 9 with the erection of a tent (one–52.48’ x 32.80’), bleachers, and a generator. Teardown will be complete by 7:30 p.m. on October 14.
Delman Circus is a classic under the Big Top circus with no animals. Performances include clowns, jugglers, aerialists, acrobats and contortionists for a full two hours of entertainment for the entire family.

Setup will begin at 6 a.m. with the erection of tents (up to 70 – 10’ x 15’) and teardown will be complete by 2 p.m.
This Neighborhood Farmers Market is organized by Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. The market will consist of no more than 70 vendors with tents (10’x15′) and tables selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup of the market will begin at 7 a.m. and teardown will be complete by 1 p.m.
This annual church festival is hosted by Nuestra Señora del Pilar and takes place on church grounds. The festival features live entertainment and games for children. Food, beverage (nonalcoholic) and merchandise will be sold. Setup begins at 3 p.m. on October 11 with the erection of a stage (16’x24’x36”) and tents (twenty – 10’x10’). Teardown will be complete by 5 p.m. on Oct. 14.
Pumpkin Festival is a new event hosted by Dallas Farmers Market. This free event includes live music, a pumpkin patch, cooking demos and outdoor activities. Food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be sold. Setup begins at 8 a.m. and teardown will be complete by 5:30 p.m. Street closure apparatus will be removed by 5 p.m.
