Dallas Reggae Festival @ Longhorn Ballroom Park

Dallas Reggae Festival is a new two- day event hosted by Longhorn Ballroom. This ticketed event includes a festival, live music, a DJ, food trucks and outdoor activities. Merchandise, food and beverage (alcoholic) will be sold. The client has requested a sound variance.  Setup begins at 2 p.m. on August 29 with the erection of tents (ten – 10’x10’). Teardown will be complete and street closure apparatus will be removed by 6 p.m. on September 2.

Casa Linda Farmers Market

This neighborhood farmers market is organized by Four Seasons Market and located in the the Casa Linda Shopping Center parking lot. The Casa Linda Farmers Market hours are from  3 – 7 p.m. The market will occur every Wednesday. Parking for vendors and market guests will be in approved parking areas. The market will consist of no more than 70 vendors with tents (10’x15′) and tables selling locally grown foods and goods. Setup begins at 1 p.m. and teardown is complete by 8 p.m. The market will not require street closures, and traffic cones and signs are not to be placed on streets or public property.

The Sound – Tribute Thursdays Concert Series
Sep 5 @ 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm
This reoccurring event includes a weekly concert series through October at The Sound outdoor amphitheater and stage. These Thursday night concerts are hosted by Billingsley Company and involve a live performance by a local tribute band taking stage at 9 p.m. Outdoor amplified sound must be turned off by 11 p.m. Food and beverage (alcoholic) will be sold by local restaurants. Registration/ticket is required and ticket holders may bring a picnic. Setup begins at 7 p.m. each Thursday with the installation of a portable stage (40”x16’x20’) and tents (two – 10’x10’). Teardown will be complete by midnight. A private contractor will provide onsite security guards in addition to the required two (2) off-duty DPD officers. A special event permit is issued for a period not to exceed 10 consecutive days, and this series will require permit extensions through the projected October 31, 2019 series end date. Requirements will be reevaluated with each extension and will be adjusted as the market scope changes. Extensions are not guaranteed.

The Sound – Boho Market Series

This is a new weekly Artisan Market series organized by Boho Market Group and hosted by Billingsley Company. The recurring Friday market at The Sound Cypress Waters is free and open to the public and features amplified sound and up to 30 vendors selling local handcrafted and vintage home goods, art and apparel. There is no food/beverage sales or distribution. Setup starts at 1 p.m. with the erection of vendor pop-up tents (up to 30 – 10’x10’) and teardown will be complete by 10:15 p.m. A private security contractor will provide onsite security guards. A special event permit is issued for a period not to exceed 10 consecutive days, and this series will require permit extensions through the projected October 25, 2019 series end date. Requirements will be reevaluated with each extension and will be adjusted as the market scope changes. Extensions are not guaranteed.

2019 Walk-a-Thon for Suicide Awareness @ Christian Fellowship World Outreach Church

This new walk-a-thon hosted by Christian Fellowship World Outreach Church will feature a neighborhood walk to raise awareness on suicide and prevention. This ticketed event will involve outdoor amplified sound, and food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. No tents or stages are required. The route includes rolling closures; streets will close 15 minutes before the first participant and will reopen after the last participant passes through. The walk starts at 8:30 a.m. from the parking lot of the church and travels south onto TI Boulevard, left onto Restland Road, left onto S Greenville Avenue, left onto Buckingham Road, left onto S Sherman Street, left onto TI Boulevard to return to the church parking lot where a keynote speaker will deliver suicide prevention strategies to the participants.

Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb @ CBD

Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is hosting their 9th annual ceremony. This ticketed event includes an opening ceremony, outdoor activities, a kid’s zone, vendor booths and amplified sound. A live video showing the climbers within the stairwell and top floor will be streamed to the parking lot. Only merchandise will be sold. The following street will close from 5 – 10 a.m.: Elm Street from Field Street to Griffin Street (full closure). Setup begins at 5 a.m. with the erection of a stage (16’x8’x10”), a flatbed trailer (used only during the opening ceremony), a portable generator, and a scissor lift. Freedom Run 5K @ Felix H. Lozado, Sr. Gateway
Sep 7 @ 8:00 am – 10:30 am

This annual 5K benefits the Assist the Officer Foundation. Outdoor amplified sound is approved to start at 7:30 a.m. with a 5-minute sound check after 7 a.m. Food and beverage (alcoholic) will be provided and merchandise will be sold. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. on the Felix H. Lozada, Sr. Gateway Plaza, crosses over the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge, u-turns at the bollards, returns west back across the pedestrian bridge, right on the trail, down the ramp, onto the Trinity Skyline Trail, u-turns at the designated point #2, and finishes on the Trinity Skyline Trail between the pedestrian bridge and the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. Setup begins at 1 p.m. on September 6 with the erection of a stage (30”x16’x84’) and tents (ten – 10’x10’), and teardown will be complete by 12:30 p.m. on September 7.

Good Local Market -White Rock Farmers Market @ Lake Pointe Church
Sep 7 @ 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

This neighborhood farmers market is organized by Good Local Markets in the Lake Pointe Church parking lot. The market includes up to 70 vendors selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup will begin at 6 a.m. with the erection of tents (up to 70 – 10’ x 15’) and teardown will be complete by 2 p.m.

St. Michaels Farmers Market
Sep 7 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

This Neighborhood Farmers Market is organized by Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. The market will consist of no more than 70 vendors with tents (10’x15′) and tables selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup of the market will begin at 7 a.m. and teardown will be complete by 1 p.m.

 

Best Foot Forward @ 4DWN Project
Sep 7 @ 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm

This new national skateboarding contest is free, open to the public and will be contained within a fenced perimeter on the grounds of 4DOWN.  This event includes outdoor amplified sound by a DJ, merchandise, food and beverage (non-alcoholic) sales. Setup will begin Thursday, September 5 at 9 a.m. with the erection of tents (ten – 10’x10’ and one – 10’x20’). Teardown will be complete Sunday, September 8 by 5 p.m. A third party security vendor will be hired to assist with public safety in addition to DPD.
