Bon Pchum Ben (Ancestor Ceremony) @ Cambodian Buddhist Temple of Dallas

This annual event is a three-day Cambodian celebration to remember, venerate, and present food offerings to deceased ancestors. This event will feature band and dance performances and food, beverages and merchandise will be sold. The event will require no tents, stages or street closures. Amplified sound is allowed between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. only. Set-up will begin at 7 a.m. Friday and tear down will be completed by 7 p.m. Monday, September 30.

FAME Fest Dallas @ OMNI Hotel
Sep 28 @ 8:00 am – 10:00 pm

This new event is a fitness festival hosted by the Omni Dallas Hotel and includes a DJ and live performance. Food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. Merchandise will be sold. Setup begins at 8 a.m. on September 27 with the erection of a stage (32’x24’x48”) and tents (twenty-one – 10’x10’). Teardown will be complete by 6 a.m. on September 29.

Good Local Market -White Rock Farmers Market @ Lake Pointe Church
Sep 28 @ 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

This neighborhood farmers market is organized by Good Local Markets in the Lake Pointe Church parking lot. The market includes up to 70 vendors selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup will begin at 6 a.m. with the erection of tents (up to 70 – 10’ x 15’) and teardown will be complete by 2 p.m.

St. Michaels Farmers Market
Sep 28 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

This Neighborhood Farmers Market is organized by Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. The market will consist of no more than 70 vendors with tents (10’x15′) and tables selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup of the market will begin at 7 a.m. and teardown will be complete by 1 p.m.

 

The Boho Market at the Hill #5
Sep 28 @ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

The Boho Market at the Hill is hosting their monthly outdoor event in the parking lot of The Hill Shopping Center. This free event includes more than forty different local vendors, artisans, live music and amplified sound. Merchandise will be sold. Setup begins at 7 a.m. with the erection of tents (twenty – 10’x10’). Teardown will be complete by 5:30 p.m.

Withers Prowl 5K @ Harry C. Withers Elementary School
Sep 28 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

This annual event is a 5K and 2K run fundraiser for Withers Elementary School and includes a carnival during and after the 5K/2K. Food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be sold. The route includes rolling closures; streets will close 15 minutes ahead of participants and reopen as the last participant passes through. The 5K at 9 a.m. starts at 3900 Alta Vista Lane, proceeds west on Alta Vista Lane, right on Withers Drive, right on Cedar Brush Drive, right on Snow White Drive, right on Sleepy Lane, right on Rosser Road, left on Northaven Road, right on Cox Lane, right east on Cedarbrush Drive, right on Rosser Road, left on Alta Vista Lane to the finish and disperse. The 2K at 9 a.m. starts at 3900 Alta Vista Lane, proceeds west on Alta Vista Lane, right on Withers Drive, right on Cedar Brush Drive, right on Snow White Drive, right on Courtshire Drive, left on Whiters Drive, left on Alta Vista Lane to the finish and disperse. Setup begins at 6 a.m. with the erection of a stage 16’x8’x24” and small carnival games (ring around the milk can, splatter paint, face painting, dodgeball and dunk tank). Teardown will be complete by 3 p.m. Street closure apparatus will be removed by 12:15 p.m.

Mockingbird Elementary School Carnival
Sep 28 @ 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

This annual Mockingbird Elementary School PTA fundraiser is a carnival held on school property.  The event includes carnival rides from Amanzi party rentals, rock climbing wall, games, face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo (goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, pigs), and amplified music (DJ.) Food, beverages (non-alcoholic) and merchandise will be sold. Setup will begin at 8 a.m., Friday, September 27 with a tent (one -20’x20’) and teardown to be complete by 8 p.m.

Dallas Symphony Orchestra Gala @ Morton H. Myerson Center
Sep 28 @ 6:00 pm – 12:00 am

This ticketed annual event is a fundraiser benefiting the DSO’s music and education program. The event will take place within the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center and Betty Marcus Park. Food and beverage (alcoholic) will be provided. Outdoor amplified sound will be played until midnight. Three lanes of Flora Street will convert to one-way (west) from Leonard Street to N. Pearl Street (southmost lane will remain open for businesses access), Crocket Street from Flora Street to Ross Avenue (ingress/egress will be allowed for Cathedral of Guadalupe and DSO valet) from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Setup begins at midnight on Sept. 28 with the erection of a stage (16’x20’x6”) and teardown will be complete by 10 a.m. on Sept. 29. Street apparatus will be removed by 11 p.m. on Sept. 28.
