@frogers lives in Oak Cliff and works out of Tyler Station. He produced the artwork we've started to unveil for Bastille on Bishop. Here's, in his own words, how he approached the design: "It was really important to me when developing the artwork for this year's Bastille on Bishop to try and evoke a sense of fun and community. Go Oak Cliff exists to celebrate the community and express pride for its unique character and diverse demographic. Bishop Arts is also a very artsy community so I wanted something that felt very handmade as opposed to made by a computer, so I decided to draw everything by hand. Above everything else though, this event is FUN so I wanted the artwork to feel fun and energetic. I knew I wanted to create a limited addition run of silkscreen posters, too, so I was also looking for a way to create a piece that not only looked cool as a poster but that would also have the ability to be broken apart and used for other things like digital, environmental, etc. I explored several concepts around this idea but ultimately kept coming back to this idea of showing a group of people having the best time ever! I am pretty new to the community and I already feel such a strong connection to the neighborhood so I am pumped to be able to get to work on the artwork for this amazing event. And I'm glad we're able to make some hand-printed posters! I am a huge nerd for posters so I am happy. CHEERS!" Silkscreen posters--numbered and signed by Jeff--will be available for purchase soon.
