Groundbreaking for ATLAST!
Apr 16 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

This new invitation only ceremony will commemorate the first day of construction for the ATLAST! Scholar-in-Residence program.  This event includes amplified sound, a large earth moving piece of machinery will serve as the backdrop and food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. A closure of Overton Road (one westbound curb lane) from S. Beckley Avenue to S. Marsalis Avenue is required for pedestrian safety and parking from 9 a.m. – noon.  Setup begins at 6 a.m. with the erection of tents (one-“20×30” and one-10’x10’) and tear down will be complete by noon. Street closure apparatus will be picked up Wednesday, April 17.

Food Trucks on the Plaza @ City Hall Plaza

City of Dallas are hosting their first annual Food Trucks on the Plaza event located at City Hall Plaza. Food trucks will be parked on Marilla between City Hall Building and Henry Moore sculpture. The sale of food & beverage (Non-alcohol) will be provided. Set up starts at 10 a.m. and teardown concludes at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Dallas Security will incorporate the normal city hall exterior patrols with the event. On Wednesdays, patrols would be less due to council meetings and staffing requirements. Estimated event attendance 100. Event Starts February 19- June 14, 2019, we are issuing 30-day permits.

Casa Linda Farmers Market @ EDENS

This is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by the Four Seasons Market LLC to occur on the property of Casa Linda (Edens) LLC at 9540 Garland Road, parking lot.

The Casa Linda Farmers Market hours are from noon – 4 p.m., setup begins at 10 a.m. and tear down at 5 p.m. The market will occur every Wednesday of each month outlined below. Parking for vendors and market guests are to be in approved parking areas.

The market will consist of no more than 70 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produced foods and goods. Should the applicant provide electrical power to its vendors, all electrical cords, cables to include hoses are to be covered by cable protectors.

The market will not require street or lane closures; no traffic cones or signs are to be placed on streets or public property.

The applicant is to ensure that a copy of the Neighborhood Farmers Market Permit is on hand at all time. The projected attendance is 250 throughout the day and is not to exceed 1,000

Good Friday Procession
Apr 19 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

This annual Good Friday procession is hosted by the Saint Bernard Parish. Participants will pray and sing hymns along the route which begins at the church makes a right onto Forest Hills Boulevard, right on El Campo Drive, right onto San Saba Drive, left on Diceman Drive and right on Old Gate Lane to return to the church parking lot where it will finish. Rolling street closures will begin at 4 p.m. for the 4:15 p.m. procession start time and will roll through each intersection 15 minutes prior to the arrival of the procession and will open immediately following the last participant. Set up will begin at 4 p.m. and tear down will be complete by 7 p.m.

Stone’s Ace Hardware

The Stones are hosting a new event to celebrate the Ace Hardware’s grand opening located in the parking lot of Casa View Shopping Center. This free event includes live music, a motorcycle show, vendors and a chainsaw-carving demonstration. Food and beverage (alcoholic) will be provided. Amplified sound will start at 10 a.m. Setup begins at 6 a.m. with the erection of tents (two-10×10), amplifiers, and a generator. Teardown to be complete by 10 p.m.

 

White Rock Farmers Market @ White Rock Farmers Market
Apr 20 @ 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

This event is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by Good Local Markets to occur on the property of Lake Pointe Church (parking lot) at 9150 Garland Rd.

The White Rock Farmers Market will consist of up to 70 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produced foods and goods on Saturdays starting on March 9 – December 7, 2019. This event will not require street or lane closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot.
