Dash for the Beads @ Kidd Springs Park

This annual 5K, 10K and 1-mile fun run starts and ends at 800 W. Canty Street and travels through the streets of North Oak Cliff. The pre and post run festivities are contained within Kidd’s Spring Park and include a DJ and band beginning at 9 a.m., merchandise sales, and food and beverage (alcohol) will be provided. The 1-mile at 9 a.m. proceeds east on W. Canty Street, left on Van Buren Avenue, left on Cedar Hill Avenue, U-turns at Neches Street, south on Cedar Hill Avenue, right on N. Van Buren Avenue, right on W. Canty Street to finish and disperse. The 5K run at 9:45 a.m. proceeds east on W. Canty Street, left on Van Buren Avenue, left on Cedar Hill Avenue, right Greenbriar Lane, left on Junior Drive, left to continue on Kessler Parkway, left on Eastus Drive, left on Shady Lane, curves left north to continue on La Senda Place (full closure), turns right east on Greenbriar Lane (full closure), turns right south on Cedar Hill Avenue (full closure), turns right southwest on N. Van Buren Avenue (full closure), turns right west on W. Canty Street to finish and disperse. The 10K at 9:30 a.m. proceeds east on W. Canty Street , left on N. Van Buren Avenue, left on Cedar Hill Avenue, right on Greenbriar Lane, left on Junior Drive, continues west on Kessler Parkway, right on Colorado Boulevard, left on Mayflower Drive, south on N. Oak Cliff Boulevard, left on N. Plymouth Road, right on W. Colorado Boulevard, turns northeast on Kessler Parkway , right on Eastus Drive, left on Shady Trail, left on La Senda Place, right on Greenbriar Drive, right on Cedar Hill Avenue, right on N. Van Buren Avenue, right on W. Canty Street to finish and disperse. Setup in the park will begin at 9 a.m. on February 21 with the erection of tents (two -40’x100’) and teardown will be complete by 5 p.m. Street apparatus will be removed by noon February 22.

Merchandise, food, and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be sold. Parking meters will be hooded from 100 to 199 N. Crowdus Street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Setup begins at 10 a.m. with the erection of tents (thirty five – 10’x10’) and a PA system. Teardown will be complete and street closure apparatus will be removed by 7 p.m.

Lakewood Village Farmer’s Market

This recurring Lakewood Village Farmers Market is organized by Good Local Markets, Inc. The market is hosted on Sundays from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. from February 9 through August 30 in the parking lot of Lakewood Village Shopping Center, 6434 E Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75214. The market includes a daily maximum of 30 vendors each selling locally grown food and locally crafted and produced goods. Setup begins at 7 a.m. with the erection of vendor tents and tables (up to 30 – 10’X15’ stalls) and teardown will be complete by 4 p.m.

Go Oak Cliff Mardi Gras Parade @ Bishop Arts
Feb 23 @ 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

This annual Mardi Gras Parade hosted by Go Oak Cliff begins at the corner of W Davis Street and N Windomere Avenue. The street closures for the staging area are from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. The parade kicks off at 4 p.m. and the route travels east on W Davis Street to N Bishop Avenue, right onto N Bishop Avenue to end at W 10th Street. The route will continue for disbursal purposes; right on W 10th Street (pedestrian participants will disburse), right onto N Adams Avenue, left onto W 9th Street (floats will disburse). This route will require street closures beginning at 3 p.m. and lasting until 8 p.m. No tents, stages or food and beverage are required. Setup will begin at 9 a.m. Teardown will be complete, and all street closure apparatus will be picked up by 8 p.m.

This new event is a political rally at Main Street Garden and includes live performance and Pete Buttigieg will speak. Food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. Setup will begin at 9 a.m. March 1 with the erection of stages (one – 12’x8’x48, one 8’x24’x48” and one – 24’x32’x48”) and tents (one – 10’x20’ and one 20’x30’) Teardown and street closure apparatus will be complete by 11:30 p.m.

The Ginger Man Dallas is hosting their annual Chili Cookoff. This registration required event includes live music, amplified sound, pet adoption services, outdoor activities and approximately 15 teams participating in the outdoor cooking. The parking lot will be fenced off with one entrance for raffle ticket sales, checking IDs and multiple emergency exits. Food and beverage (alcoholic) will be sold. Setup begins at 9 a.m. with the erection of tents (15- 10’x10”), picnic tables, outside bar and liquid propane gas. Teardown will be complete by 7 p.m.

International Women’s Day Festival @ Craft and Growler

This is a new beer festival hosted by and held in the rear parking lot of Craft and Growler. This free event will involve outdoor amplified sound, and merchandise, food and beverage (alcoholic) will be sold within a fenced perimeter. Setup will begin at 9 a.m. with the erection of tents (ten – 10’x10’). Teardown will be complete by Saturday, March 6 at 10 a.m. No street closures are required.

One Run 2020 @ Felix H. Lozado, Sr. Gateway

This annual 1K and 5K is a fun run supporting Cancer Community North Texas. Its goal is to celebrate survivorship and offer continued community to all affected by cancer. There will be DJ music starting at 7:30 a.m., food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. The 1K at 8 a.m. will start at the Felix H. Lozada, Sr. Gateway, proceed east on the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge, U-turn back to the start/finish and disperse. The 5K at 8:30 a.m. will start at the Felix H. Lozada Gateway, proceed east on the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge, U-turn back to the west side, proceed to the Skyline Trail turnaround east of a green 911 TSK425 sign located on the north side of the trail and east of the west Trinity River levee back to the finish at the Felix H. Lozada, Sr. Gateway. Setup will begin at noon on March 6 with the erection of tents (five – 10’x10’) and teardown will be complete by noon.
