BMW Dallas Marathon @ City Hall Plaza
Dec 9 @ 7:30 am – 3:00 pm

The BMW Dallas Marathon race, (26.2 miles) is an annual event that takes place downtown Dallas and surrounding areas. The start and finish will be on City Hall Plaza; set-up will begin at 8 a.m. Dec. 1 and teardown will be completed by 6 a.m. Dec. 10. The event will require the following closures around City Hall:

Marilla Street between Young Street and Akard Street beginging at 7 am Dec. 5 to 10 p.m. Dec. 9;

Young Street between Field Street and St. Paul Street will close from 9 am. through 4 p.m. Dec. 7 and again at 7 p.m. through 10 p.m. Dec. 9

Ervay Street between Young St. and Subway lot (north entrance) will close from 9 am. through 4 p.m. Dec. 6 & 7 and again at 7p.m. through 10 p.m. Dec. 9

SB Akard Street between Young St. and Canton St. will close between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 and again at 7 p.m. through 10 p.m. Dec. 9;

NB Akard St. between Wood Street and Canton St. will be closed between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 and again at 7 p.m. through 10 p.m. Dec. 9;

Ervay St. between Canton Street and Young St. will close between 9 am. through 4 p.m., and from 7 p.m. through 10p.m. Dec. 6 again on Dec. 7 and will remain closed after 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. Dec. 9;

Browder Street between Young St. and north side of Horseshoe lot 9 a.m. Dec. 5 through 10 p.m. Dec. 9;

Marilla St. between Ervay St and west side of public parking entrance from 9 a.m. Dec. 6 through 10 p.m. Dec. 9;

Field Street south side of Dallas Federal Credit Union dock entrance to Young St. from 9 a.m. pm Dec. 7 through 8 p.m. Dec. 9;

Griffin Street between Ceremonial Drive to Young St. from 3 p.m. Dec. 8 through 9 p.m. Dec. 9;

Ceremonial Dr. (east side) in front of the DCC Hall A/B doors from 7 p.m. Dec. 8 through 10 p.m. Dec. 9. (Pedestrian and DCC doorway access will not be affected at any point of the weekend)

City Hall Horseshoe will be closed from 7 p.m. Dec. 7 through 6 a.m. Dec. 10. Young St.

City Hall Garage entry/exit on Young Street will be closed from 9 a.m. Dec. 6 through 10 p.m. Dec. 9 (City Hall garage access via Akard Street/Canton Street will be open for employees).

North Pioneer parking lot at Young St. will close at 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 3 through 6 a.m. Dec. 10 and South Pioneer parking lot on Griffin Street will close at 4:30 a.m. Dec. 6 through 6 a.m. Dec. 10, 2018 for equipment and medical staging.

The runners will be released in waves beginning at 8:25 a.m. through 9 a.m.

Post- race events will be at City Hall Plaza. Set-up will begin at 4 a.m. Dec. 5 and teardown will be completed by 6 a.m., Dec. 10, 2018.  City Hall Garage via Akard Street will be open for VIP, volunteer and Board Member parking from 6 a.m. through 12 p.m. Dec. 8 and 6 a.m. through 4 p.m. Dec. 9. City Hall Horseshoe parking will be closed from 6 p.m. Dec. 7 through 10 p.m. Dec. 9. Approximately twenty-one tents ranging in size of 10’x10’ up to 40’x80’ will be erected at City Hall Plaza for sponsors, charity and/or vendors. A Jumbotron will be place on Akard St. Ten stages will be erected along the route and a portable 9’x24’x36” flatbed stage at the start/finish line.

Mananitas a la Virgen de Guadalupe @ Chilangolandia Sabor Unico Inc.

Mananitas a la Virgen de Guadalupe is an annual recurring event celebrating the birthday of the Virgin Mary with prayer, songs, dancers and live music. Non-sale of food and beverage (non-alcohol) will be provided through-out the event. Set-up starts at 4 p.m. which includes the erection of a tent (32×20). Outdoor amplified sound is permitted between the hours of 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. only. Event starts at 6 p.m. and concludes at 11 p.m. Tear down will be completed by 11:50 p.m. day of the event. The estimated attendance is 90.

Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe @ Cathedral Santuario de Guadalupe

This is a street closure only permit as the event will be held completely inside Cathedral Guadalupe Church at 2215 Ross Avenue. To accommodate lines outside, the event will require a closure of Crockett Street from Flora Street to Ross Avenue and Ross Avenue from Leonard Street to N. Pearl Street from 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 through 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 for crowd control. Access to the Hall Garage entrance/exit will be needed during this closure, as the garage will host parking for this event. The projected attendance is 10,000.

Casa Linda Farmers Market @ 9540 Garland Road

This is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by the Four Seasons Market LLC to occur on the property of Casa Linda (Edens) at 9540 Garland Road (parking lot).

The Casa Linda Farmers Market hours are from 12pm – 4pm, The market will occur on ‘most’ Wednesday of each month thru December 19, 2018. The market will consist of no more than 70 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×10) and tables to sell locally grown produce foods and goods.

Fiesta Posadas

This annual celebration with entertainment is hosted by Fiesta Mart as a “thank you” for your service to their customers. The event is free to the public; there will be giveaways, face painting and DJ music. Ten 10’x10’ tents and a 40”x24’x26’ stage will be erected. Set-up will begin at 1 p.m. and teardown will be completed by 10 p.m.

College March @ Trinity River Corridor Project,
Dec 14 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am

This annual event is a march to celebrate high school seniors who are ready to mail their college applications. Seniors will walk holding letters to symbolize their actual applications to various colleges and universities. The entire student body and the parents of the seniors will participate in this march that begins at the corner of Holystone Street & Greenleaf Street and proceed north on Holystone Street to 2806 Canada Drive, where it will finish and disperse. A hard closure of Holystone Street, will be necessary, between Greenleaf Street & Canada Drive beginning at 8:00 a.m. and lasting until the event end time of 11:00 a.m. Amplified sound by a live DJ will be active in one area beginning at 8:00 a.m. There will be neither food nor beverages at this event and stages and tents are not required. The projected attendance is 1,200.

Uplift Luna Secondary College March
Dec 14 @ 11:00 am – 11:30 am

This annual recurring event allows 100 graduating seniors to “march” their college admission applications to the mailbox on the corner of Elm Street & N. Good Latimer Expressway. Elm Street will be flanked on both sides by the 6th-11th graders who will be cheering the seniors on as they proceed to the mailbox. The 6th-11th graders will begin pouring out of the Uplift Luna Preparatory Secondary School building to line Elm Street just before 11 a.m. and Elm Street will require a hard closure between N. Crowdus Street and N. Good Latimer Expressway for approximately one hour beginning at 10:45 a.m. The seniors will begin their march promptly at 11 a.m. Elm Street will reopen, and the 6th-11th graders will return to the building once the last senior has passed. The senior students will march west on Elm Street beginning at N. Crowdus Street, end the route at N. Good Latimer Expressway and return to the school via sidewalks and pedestrian rights of ways. There will be neither food nor beverages at this event and stages and tents are not required. Estimated attendance is 1,100.

Ojos Locos will be hosting a watch party for the Canelo fight. It will take place in the parking lot; there will be DJ music, food and alcoholic beverages will be sold. Setup will begin at 8 a.m. Dec. 14 and teardown will be completed by 8 a.m. Dec. 16. No street closures will be required.

The Texas Toy Run
Dec 16 @ 7:30 am – 12:30 pm

This annual Texas Toy Run benefits the Tarrant and Dallas County MHMR. The riders will start at 11 a.m. on 2611 Commerce going east, right on Malcolm X, right on Canton past Good Latimer, left on Cesar Chavez to the entrance ramp of I-30 at which point they will proceed south to I-30. The sale of merchandise, food or beverage (non-alcohol) during the event. Set-up at 7:30 a.m. with the staging of motorcycles in the parking lot on Good Latimer and Commerce under I-75 Bridge, VIP’s, Santa and his reindeer will stage in Deep Ellum Parking Lot C and completely vacate the premises no later than 12:30 p.m. The estimated attendance is 1000.

Camp Gladiator

Camp Gladiator are hosting their first annual three-day workout event. This is a private corporate event that will utilize Reunion Lawn for their activities. Trainers will be on stage performing workouts to the crowds on the lawn on multiple days. Upbeat music will be playing during the workouts. No sale of merchandise or food/beverage will take place during the event. Set-up on Dec. 17th at 7 a.m. includes the erection of a stage (120’x144’x36” high), truss structure 12Wx16T over the stage for a banner, three water monsters, golf cart, lighting, generator, marching band, paint field lines and amplified sound at 3 p.m. in one location. Route: Starting at the Omni hotel then proceeding South Bound Lamar, West Bound Memorial, North Bound Hotel and ending at 777 Sports. Street closure times: Tuesday 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.; Wednesday 11:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.; Thursday 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. with amplified sound starting at 8 a.m. Teardown will be completed by 6 p.m. Dec 20. The estimated attendance is 1400

This event is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by the Oak Cliff Lions Club to occur on the property of Lula B’s (parking lot) at 1982 Fort Worth Ave.

The Oak Cliff Lions Club Farmers Market will consist of up to 35 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produce, foods and goods on the second and fourth Saturday thru December 22.

This event will not require street or lane closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Set up of the market will begin at 7 a.m. and teardown at 12 p.m.

The market hours are from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

(North Side); In between Hyatt Regency Dallas/Reunion Tower from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Set-up starts at 8 a.m. with amplified sound at 12 a.m. and teardown completed by 12 p.m. January 1, 2019. Happiest Hour are hosting their annual New Year’s Eve Party located in the Oak Lawn area. The event is a private property and will require registration/tickets to participate. Alcohol beverage will be sold during the event. Set-up on Dec. 26 at 10 a.m. which includes the erection of tents (one-30×70) (one-20×25) (one-10×50) (one-50×40) (one-40×40), eight tent heaters, propane gas cylinders, tables, chairs, and performance by a DJ inside the facility. Four tents will be located within the perimeter and one tent will be located on the second-floor patio and amplified sound at 9 p.m. in one location and should not exceed 10 p.m. Teardown will be completed no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2019. There are no street closures or stages. Estimated attendance is 1200
