College March – Uplift Luna @ Deep Ellum

Uplift Luna Secondary School is hosting their annual College March Ceremony. This invitation only event includes a ceremonial procession of 100 graduating seniors. The student’s stage on the street at 9:45 a.m. at the corner of July Alley and Elm Street. This route includes a rolling closure from 10:15 – 10:45 a.m.: Right on Elm Street ending at Good Latimer Expressway. Students march on the sidewalk for two and half blocks returning to school via pedestrian right of ways. Street closure apparatus will be removed by 10:45 a.m.

College March @ Uplift Heights Preparatory School

This annual march to celebrate high school seniors who are ready to mail their college applications is hosted by Uplift Education. This event, attended by parents, faculty and students of Uplift Heights Preparatory School, will involve outdoor amplified sound. No tents, stages food or beverages are required. The march will kick off at 2 p.m. at the corner of Holystone Street and Greenleaf Street and proceed north on Holystone Street to 2806 Canada Drive, where it will finish and disperse.

Deck the Plaza City Hall Lights @ City Hall Plaza

City of Dallas is hosting their annual Deck the Plaza tree lightening event. This free event includes live performances, guest speakers, amplified sound, face painting, caroling, the lighting of City Hall Plaza and the Holiday Tree, Santa, a trackless train, food trucks and outdoor activities. Food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided and sold. Outdoor amplified sound must cease by 10 p.m. Horse Drawn Carriage ride route: Travels with the flow of vehicular traffic. Load in and out on Akard Street (near flag Pole): left on Young Street, U-turn at Griffin Street and Young Street; pause at Pioneer Plaza immediately after U-turn (2-3 minutes) to listen to Carolers, right on Marilla Street, left on Akard Street back to start. The following meters will be hooded from 12 a.m. – 11:45 p.m.: Young Street, Browder Street, and the Horseshoe. Setup begins 8 a.m. on December 1 with the erection of a 50” Holiday Tree, three – 8’x8’ ornaments and installation of lights on City Hall Plaza trees and the erection of the BMW Marathon stage platform on Wednesday. Setup begins at 8 a.m. on December 6 with the erection of tents (ten – 10’x10’), tables, chairs, five hot chocolate stations with tents covers, the build of the snow hill and snow play area, a Santa kiosk and a portable generator. Teardown will be complete by 11 p.m. Street closure apparatus will be removed by 9:15 p.m.

Good Local Market -White Rock Farmers Market @ Lake Pointe Church

This neighborhood farmers market is organized by Good Local Markets in the Lake Pointe Church parking lot. The market includes up to 70 vendors selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup will begin at 6 a.m. with the erection of tents (up to 70 – 10’ x 15’) and teardown will be complete by 2 p.m.

St. Michaels Farmers Market
Dec 7 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

This Neighborhood Farmers Market is organized by Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. The market will consist of no more than 70 vendors with tents (10’x15′) and tables selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup of the market will begin at 7 a.m. and teardown will be complete by 1 p.m.

 

Dallas Holiday Parade

HTEDance & Spirit Group, Inc. is hosting the annual Dallas Holiday Parade.  This free event includes live music, a parade featuring floats, bands, balloons, costume characters, animals, horses, dance performances and vendors strolling along the route.

The parade steps off at 10 a.m. at the corner of Market Street and Commerce Street; east on Commerce Street; right on Harwood Street; right on Young Street dispersing at Young Street and Field Street.

Deep Ellum Outdoor Market 17 @ Deep Ellum

Deep Ellum Community Association is hosting their monthly outdoor arts and crafts market. This free event includes live music, amplified sound and vendors. Merchandise, food, and beverage (nonalcoholic) and will be sold. Parking Meters will be hooded at 100-199 N. Crowdus Street from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Setup begins at 10 a.m. with the erection of tents (thirty-five – 10’x10’), a generator and a PA system. Teardown will be complete and street closure apparatus will be removed by 6:30 p.m.

Christmas Market at Preston Valley @ Preston Valley Shopping Center

This new festival hosted by SWell Markets is free and open to the public. This festival will feature outdoor amplified sound, holiday activities for the kids and merchandise, food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be sold. Setup will begin at 12 p.m. with the erection of tents (fifty – 10’x10’). Teardown will be complete by 10 p.m. No street closures are required.

Reliant Lights Your Holidays @ AT&T Performing Arts Center
Dec 7 @ 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

This is an annual festival hosted by the AT&T Performing Arts Center. This free and open to the public event will involve live entertainment, arts and crafts for the kids, illuminating the Center’s campus with holiday lights and will conclude with a 10-minutes fireworks show. Merchandise, food and beverage (alcoholic) will be sold. A static street closure of Flora Street from Crocket Street to Routh, Leonard Street from Ross Avenue to Flora Street and Jack Evans Street from Woodall Rodgers Freeway to Ross Avenue is required from 7 a.m. – 11:45 p.m. Access will be allowed for outbound traffic from the Arts District Garage. Access will be allowed to the Lexus Silver Parking garage. Ingress and egress will be allowed from the Lexus Red Parking Garage at Flora and Routh. Setup will begin at 7 a.m. with the erection of a stage (40’x40’x42”) and tents (fourteen – 10’x10’). Teardown will be complete, and all street closure apparatus will be removed by 11:45 p.m. Third-party security services will be hired to assist with public safety along with DPD.
