PurpleStride 2019 @ Klyde Warren Park

The event activation within the Park is coordinated by the Woodall Rogers Park Foundation. This permit covers the related street closures and parking restrictions only. Pancreatic Cancer Action Network are celebrating their 11th Anniversary annual Purple Stride 5K. This registration event includes live music, a DJ, amplified sound and outdoor activities. Merchandise will be sold and food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. departing Klyde Warren Park heading east on Woodall Rodgers westbound service road from Hardwood Street; left on Pearl Street; right on Thomas Avenue; left on Fairmount Street; right on State Street; right on Hall; left on 75 southbound service road; left on Lemmon Avenue; left on McKinney Avenue; stay on McKinney until it hits the Woodall Rodgers; left on Woodall Rodgers Service Road to finish at Klyde Warren Park. The following meters will be hooded from 10 p.m. – Noon starting November 8 and ending November 9: five – meters at 2100 Akard Street; seven – meters at 2100 St. Paul Street. Setup begins at 2 p.m. on November 8 with the erection of a stage (16’x32’x40”) and tents (sixteen – 10’x10’, two – 10’x20’ and two – 20’x20’). Teardown will be complete by 2 p.m. Street closure apparatus will be removed by 11 a.m.

Good Local Market -White Rock Farmers Market @ Lake Pointe Church

This neighborhood farmers market is organized by Good Local Markets in the Lake Pointe Church parking lot. The market includes up to 70 vendors selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup will begin at 6 a.m. with the erection of tents (up to 70 – 10’ x 15’) and teardown will be complete by 2 p.m.

St. Michaels Farmers Market
Nov 9 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

This Neighborhood Farmers Market is organized by Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. The market will consist of no more than 70 vendors with tents (10’x15′) and tables selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup of the market will begin at 7 a.m. and teardown will be complete by 1 p.m.

 

Trek for Tech 21 @ Lakehill Preparatory School
Nov 9 @ 8:00 am – 11:00 am

This is an annual fundraising 5K and 1mile run hosted by Lakehill Preparatory School. The run will involve outdoor amplified sound, and food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. Both runs start and end on school property and run an out-and-back course. The 1-mile fun run starts at 8:30 a.m. and proceeds south on Hillside Drive, east on Lakeshore Drive, U-turns just past Cambria Boulevard and returns to the school entrance. The 5K starts at 9 a.m. and proceeds south on Hillside Drive, east on Lakeshore Drive, then onto Tokalon, U-turns at W. Lawther and returns to the school. Setup begins at 7 a.m. with the erection of tents (two – 10’x10’). Teardown will be completed by noon.

District 4 Veteran’s Day Parade
Nov 9 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

City of Dallas District 4 is hosting a new Veterans Day Parade in Oak Cliff. This free event includes a 2.3-mile parade, marching bands from local junior high and high schools, ROTC, drill teams, floats, guest speakers, a DJ, amplified sound and food trucks. Food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. The route will begin at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of Lighthouse Church of God in Christ; right on Corinth Street Road; left on South Lancaster Road ending at the corner of South Lancaster Road and Mentor Avenue. Setup begins at 5 a.m. with the erection of a stage (12’x24’x16”), tables, chairs, a podium and a food truck. Teardown will be complete by 2:30 p.m. Street closure apparatus will be removed by 11:30 a.m.

The half marathon starts at 4 p.m. heading east on Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge; right on Riverfront Avenue; right on Corinth Street; left on 8th Street; left on Santa Fe Trestle Trail; left on Riverfront Boulevard; right on Turtle Creek Boulevard; left on Hi Line Drive; left on Trinity Strand Trail; right on Wycliff Avenue onto Sylvian Avenue; turnabout midway; right on Irving Boulevard; right on Manufacturing Street; left on E. Levee Street; left on Payne Street; right on Riverfront Boulevard; right on Continental Avenue ending on the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge. The 10K starts at 5:30 p.m. heading east on Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge; left on Riverfront Avenue; right on Turtle Creek Boulevard; left on Hi Line Drive; left on Trinity Strand Trail; right on Wycliff Avenue onto Sylvian Avenue; turnabout midway; right on Irving Boulevard; right on Manufacturing Street; left on E. Setup begins at 8 a.m. on November 8 with the erection of a stage (4’x8’x24”), tents (twenty – 10’x10’ and three – 10’x20’) and a portable generator. Teardown will be complete by 1 p.m. on November 11. Street closure apparatus will be removed by 11 p.m. Two lanes will be closed on the Westbound outer lane against traffic of Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge utilizing bicycle barricades. One lane will be open to vehicular traffic from Woodall Rodgers to Beckley Avenue. All Westbound traffic will be held by DPD for approximately 20 minutes before each race (Half Marathon 3:45 – 4:05 p.m., 10K 5:15 – 5:35 p.m., 5K 5:30 – 5:50 p.m.) and during the start. DPD will divert traffic to Beckley Avenue if Singleton Boulevard starts to back up.

Teardown will be complete by 6 p.m. on November 12th. This event does not require street closures.

Setup begins at 8 a.m. with the erection of vendor tents and tables (up to thirty-five – 10’X15’) and teardown will be complete by 6: 30 p.m.
