Susan G. Komen 3 Day @ Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is hosting their annual 3-Day event. This registration event includes a 60 mile walk over the course of three days, approximately 20 miles each day during daylight hours only. No street closures required. Participants walk only on sidewalks, shoulders and in bike lanes as they venture along the route. Food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. The route starts at 7:45 a.m. on Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge onto Continental Avenue; right on Riverfront Boulevard; left on Commerce Street; left on Elm Street; left on Houston Street; right on Ross Avenue; left on Market Street; right on Munger Avenue; left on Lamar Street; right on Houston Street; right on Katy Trail; continuing through Reverchon Park onto Turtle Creek Boulevard; slight right on Turtle Creek Trail; right on Sylvan Drive; left on Lemmon Avenue; left on McKinney Avenue; left on Knox Street; left on Abbott Avenue; right Lexington Avenue; right on Lakeside Drive; left on Beverly Drive; right on Preston Road; right on University Boulevard; left on Haynie Avenue; left on Golf Drive continuing through Curtis Park; right on Lovers Lane; right on Greenville Avenue; right on Ellsworth Avenue; right on University Crossing Trial; left on Mockingbird Lane; left on Airline Road; right on Katy Trail: left on Cole Avenue; onto Carlisle Street; left on Cedar Springs Road; left on Pearl Street; right on Woodall Rodgers Freeway; left on St. Paul Street; right on Elm Street; left on Akard Street; right on Commerce Street; left on Lamar; Street; right on Young Street; onto Reunion Boulevard ending at Reunion Tower Parking Lot A for SAG Bus Pick up. Pit Stops are located at American Airlines Center Parking Lot F, Cole Park, Glenco Park, Klyde Warren Park and Curtis Park for lunch stop. Once buses drop participants off, they will leave the site. No participants will be coming by car and no cars will be parked and left for the day. Setup begins at 9 a.m. on November 1 with the erection of tents (two – 10’x10’ and one – 16’x16’). Teardown will be complete by 6:30 p.m.

Disco Dash @ The Sound of Cypress Waters
Nov 2 @ 8:00 am – 11:00 am

Disco Dash 5K is a new event hosted by The Delta Companies. This free event includes a 1-mile fun run starting at 8:30 a.m., a 5k starting at 9 a.m., vendors and amplified sound. The route will be on a trail along the lake. Merchandise, food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be sold. Setup begins at 6 a.m. with the erection of vendors and a portable generator. Teardown will be complete by 11:45 p.m.

Good Local Market -White Rock Farmers Market @ Lake Pointe Church
Nov 2 @ 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

This neighborhood farmers market is organized by Good Local Markets in the Lake Pointe Church parking lot. The market includes up to 70 vendors selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup will begin at 6 a.m. with the erection of tents (up to 70 – 10’ x 15’) and teardown will be complete by 2 p.m.

Special Olympics – Over the Edge
Nov 2 @ 8:00 am – 7:00 pm

Special Olympics – Over the Edge is a new event hosted by The Union Uptown Dallas. This registration event includes the opportunity to repel of the tower roof attached with rope down to a podium. Setup begins at 8 a.m. on October 31 with the erection of small bleachers only 3 steps high. Teardown will be complete by 5:15 p.m. on November 4.

St. Michaels Farmers Market
Nov 2 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

This Neighborhood Farmers Market is organized by Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. The market will consist of no more than 70 vendors with tents (10’x15′) and tables selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup of the market will begin at 7 a.m. and teardown will be complete by 1 p.m.

 

ROCing Redbird Community Bike Ride hosted by the Dallas Police Department
Nov 2 @ 8:30 am – 11:00 am

DPD Redbird Outreach Center is hosting their annual Community Bike Ride. This free event includes a registration at 8 a.m., a 2.5-mile bike ride starting at 8:30 a.m., a bike safety course, a DJ, amplified sound and outdoor activities. The route starts at the parking lot of Hotel Liquidators; left on S. Westmoreland Road; right on W. Camp Wisdom Road; left on American way; left on Investor Drive; right along the southern perimeter of the Redbird Mall; right on Pastor Bailey Drive; left on Zelma Avenue; left on Lockett Avenue; right on Pastor Bailey Drive; right on Scout Avenue; left on Del Rey Drive; right on W. Camp Wisdom Road ending at the parking lot of Hotel liquidators. Setup begins at 7 a.m. with the erection of a bounce house and DJ equipment. 6000 Sisters, 6000 Steps for Hope @ Richland College

This annual community breast cancer walk and heath expo is sponsored by Sisters Network Dallas Inc. This event is contained to the campus of Richland College and includes a trail walk, DJ, exhibitors, outdoor amplified sound and a key note speaker.  Food and beverages (nonalcoholic) will be provided.  The walk starts at 9 a.m. and follows the soft-surface trail circling the tennis courts.  Setup begins at 5:30 a.m. with the erection of a stage platform (4’ x 8’), half band shell (30’ x 60’) and tents (one – 30’ x 40’ and twelve – 10’ x 10’). Teardown will be complete by 12 p.m.

Fund Raising for Non-profit Organization for Temple
Nov 2 @ 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

This new event hosted by Wat Lao Budhha Phoukhaothong Temple will involve a fundraiser to achieve a new temple. This invitation event will be held on open land that marks the spot for the new temple and will involve outdoor amplified sound, and food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. Setup will begin at 9 a.m. with the erection of tents (three – 10’x20’). Teardown will be complete by 4 p.m. No street closures are required.

Healthy Harvest Festival Baylor Scott & White Health and Wellness Center @ Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center
Nov 2 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Baylor Scott & White Health & Wellness Center is hosting their annual Healthy Harvest Festival. This free event includes live performances, amplified sound, cooking demos, Euro Bungee, an inflatable obstacle course and outdoor activities. Food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. Setup begins at 1 p.m. on November 1 with the erection of stages (none – 8’x40’x24” and two – 2’x8’x24”), tents (forty – 10’x10’), barricades. Teardown will be complete by 3:15 p.m.

The Petite Palace @ White Rock Lake - Bath House Cultural Center
Nov 2 @ 10:30 am – 9:30 pm

This new event is a circus featuring acrobats, jugglers, clowns and a contortionist. No animals will participate in this event. Merchandise, food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be sold. Setup will begin October 13 at 9 a.m. with the erection of a tent (one – 150’x150’) and a stage (30”x16’x8’). Teardown will be complete by November 5 at 6:30 p.m. A special event permit is issued for a period not to exceed 10 consecutive days, and this series will require permit extensions through the projected November 3, 2019 series end date. Requirements will be reevaluated with each extension and will be adjusted as the market scope changes. Extensions are not guaranteed.
