Lamplighter Carnival @ Lamplighter School
Oct 4 @ 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm

This annual family school carnival is sponsored by The Lamplighter School. There will be DJ music, a petting zoo, carnival rides, food, beverage (nonalcoholic) and games. Setup begins at 11 a.m. on October 4 with the erection of tents (one – 20’x20, one – 10’x20’, five – 10’x10 and eight – 8’x8’) and teardown will be complete by 9 p.m. the same day.

The Sound – Boho Market Series
Oct 4 @ 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm

This is a new weekly Artisan Market series organized by Boho Market Group and hosted by Billingsley Company. The recurring Friday market at The Sound Cypress Waters is free and open to the public and features amplified sound and up to 30 vendors selling local handcrafted and vintage home goods, art and apparel. There is no food/beverage sales or distribution. Setup starts at 1 p.m. with the erection of vendor pop-up tents (up to 30 – 10’x10’) and teardown will be complete by 10:15 p.m. A private security contractor will provide onsite security guards. A special event permit is issued for a period not to exceed 10 consecutive days, and this series will require permit extensions through the projected October 25, 2019 series end date. Requirements will be reevaluated with each extension and will be adjusted as the market scope changes. Extensions are not guaranteed. 

TACA Lexus Party on the Green @ Sammons Park
Oct 4 @ 6:00 pm – 10:30 pm

This annual party is hosted by The Arts Community Alliance-TACA. This ticketed event will have live music, amplified sound, and food and beverage (alcoholic) will be provided. Setup begins October 2 at 9:30 a.m. with the erection of tents (twenty – 10’x10’), a stage (16’x16’x24”), barricades and generators. Teardown will be complete by 11:45 p.m. No street closures are required.  

Parker Seminars @ Parker University
Oct 4 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

This event is a professional conference for continuing education for Chiropractors that will take place at Parker University. There will be a FIT Competition on Thursday and an Expo Hall/Tent on Friday and Saturday with a firework show on Friday night. Food and beverage (alcoholic) will be provided and a DJ will be onsite. Setup begins at 8 a.m. on October 1 with the erection of tents (one – 50’x100’) and ten -10’10’). Teardown will be complete by 3 p.m. on October 7.

This annual Half Marathon and 5K starts and ends at White Rock Lake – Flag Pole Hill. The activation within the park is managed by the Park and Recreation Dept. This permit covers the related street closures. The following street closures will be required: Flag Pole Hill from 9 a.m. Oct. 4 to 2 p.m. Oct. 5.; Doran Circle from White Rock Trail to Goforth Road and Goforth Road from Doran Circle to Norhtwest Highway from 7:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 5. The 5K at 7:40 a.m. will proceed north on Flag Pole Hill, left on Doran Circle, enter the Flag Pole Hill Trail, right on White Rock Creek Trail, U-turn at the marker and reverse the route to the start/finish. The Half Marathon at 7:30 a.m. will proceed north on Flag Pole Hill, left on Doran Circle, enter the Flag Pole Hill Trail, right on White Rock Creek Trail, continue north towards 635, U-turn at the marker before 635 and reverse the route to the start/finish. Setup begins at 9 a.m. on Oct. 4 with the erection of tents (six – 10’x10’ and three – 10’x20’), and teardown will be completed by 2 p.m. Street apparatus will be removed by 12:30 p.m.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s @ City Hall Plaza

Alzheimer’s Association is hosting their annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s event. This ticketed event includes live music, a DJ, a kid’s zone, a doggie dugout, photo booths, food trucks, vendors, outdoor activities, a 1.3-mile and a 3.5-miles route. Registration starts at 7 a.m. followed by a ceremony that includes Zumba and stretching. The 1.3-mile walk begins at 8:30 a.m. leaving City Hall Plaza, right on South Akard Street, right on Young Street, left on South Cesar Chavez Boulevard, left on Main Street, left on St. Paul Street, right on Young Street, left on South Akard Street to finish and disperse at City Hall Plaza. The 3.5-walk begins at 8:30 a.m. leaving City Hall Plaza, right on South Akard Street, right on Young Street continuing on Canton Street at South Cesar Chavez Boulevard, left on South Malcolm X Boulevard, left on Main Street, left on St. Paul Street, right on Young Street, left on South Akard Street to finish and disperse at City Hall Plaza. Food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be sold and provided. Amplified sound will start at 7 a.m. with a sound check at 6:45 a.m. The following streets will close: Akard Street from Marilla Street to Young Street from 7 – 10 a.m. (full closure); Young Street from Akard Street to Malcom X Boulevard from 8 – 11 a.m. (full closure); Malcom X Boulevard from Canton Street to Main Street from 8– 10 a.m. (full closure); Main Street from Malcom X Boulevard to St. Paul Street from 8:30 – 10 a.m. (full closure); St. Paul Street from Main Street to Young Street from 8:30 – 10 a.m. (full closure); South Cesar Chavez Boulevard from Young/Canton Street to Main Street from 8 – 10 a.m. (full closure). The following meters will be hooded starting at 5 p.m. on October 4 and ending at 1 p.m. on October 5: Browder Street; Marilla Street; Malcolm X Boulevard; Main Street; City Hall Horseshoe; Canton Street; Akard Street; Young Street; St. Paul Street and Harwood Street. Setup begins at 9 a.m. on October 3 with the erection of a stage (24’.11”x23’.7”x42”), tents (thirty – 10’x10’ and ten – 20’x20’), a portable generator, an archway, golf carts and trucks for setup and teardown. Teardown will be complete by 6 p.m. Street closure apparatus will be removed by 11 a.m.

Fluffy-N-Fitness Walk for Confidence 5k @ South Oak Cliff
Oct 5 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

This new 5K walk is sponsored by Fluffy-N-Fitness. This free event is open to the public and involves a 5K walk with pre and post festivities that include outdoor amplified sound along the route, a DJ, educational and vendor booths and guest speakers. Food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided. The walk starts and finishes at The Fitness Connection, 2550 West Redbird Lane. The routes include rolling closures; streets will close 15 minutes ahead of participants and reopen as the last participant passes through. The 5K walk starts at 9 a.m., proceeds south on South Hampton Road, left on West Camp Wisdom Road, left on South Polk Street, left on West Red Bird Lane, left on South Hampton Road to the finish line. Setup begins at 6 a.m. with the erection of a stage (60’ x8’ x10’) and tents (fifteen – 10’ x10’). Teardown will be complete by 12:30 p.m. 

Good Local Market -White Rock Farmers Market @ Lake Pointe Church
Oct 5 @ 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

This neighborhood farmers market is organized by Good Local Markets in the Lake Pointe Church parking lot. The market includes up to 70 vendors selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup will begin at 6 a.m. with the erection of tents (up to 70 – 10’ x 15’) and teardown will be complete by 2 p.m.

St. Michaels Farmers Market
Oct 5 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

This Neighborhood Farmers Market is organized by Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. The market will consist of no more than 70 vendors with tents (10’x15′) and tables selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup of the market will begin at 7 a.m. and teardown will be complete by 1 p.m.
