Our Lady of Guadalupe Novena @ Cathedral Guadalupe

Cathedral Santuario de Guadalupe is hosting their annual Our Lady of Guadalupe Novena Ceremony. This free event includes a visitation to the church and mass. Jugueton – El Rio Grande # 3 @ El Rio Grande Oak Cliff

BMW Dallas Marathon Friday Night Lights Mile @ City Hall Plaza

The Friday Night Lights Mile is a new event and is the first of three days of races that make up the BMW Dallas Marathon’s Weekend of Events. The start/finish line and the post-race festivities for all three days is on City Hall Plaza/Marilla Street. Food and beverage (alcoholic) will be provided and sold. Merchandise will be sold, and a small pyrotechnics display will accompany the race starts.

The one mile run at 7 p.m. starts and finishes on Marilla Street in front of City Hall and features two clockwise loops with the first outer loop (west on Marilla Street, right on WB Young Street, right on N. Ervay Street, right on Marilla Street) followed by the second inner loop (right on N. Akard Street, right on EB Young Street, right on Browder Street, right on Marilla Street).

Setup will begin at 8 a.m. on Dec. 4 with the erection of the VIP platform (40’x12’X8) over the stairwell. Setup will continue December 7 at 8 a.m. with the erection of the start/finish line structure, tents (sixteen – 10’x10’, four 10’x20’, one – 20’x20’ and two – 46’x60’), a pedestrian bridge (13’-1”x16’-10”x48’x83’-8”) and a portable flatbed stage (9’x24’x36”) for the start/finish line. Teardown will be complete by 5 p.m. on Dec. 16. Street closure apparatus will be removed by midnight Dec. 16. City Hall Garage access via Akard Street will be open for city employee and event VIPs, volunteers, and board members from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 13. City Hall horseshoe parking will close from 5 p.m. Dec. 13 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 15.

St. Michaels Farmers Market

This Neighborhood Farmers Market is organized by Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. The market will consist of no more than 70 vendors with tents (10’x15′) and tables selling locally grown foods and goods on Saturdays. This event will not require street closures and all parking will take place in the church parking lot. Setup of the market will begin at 7 a.m. and teardown will be complete by 1 p.m.

 

BMW Dallas Marathon Weekend of Events – Saturday @ City Hall Plaza

This annual 5K, 10K and 2 Mile race is held on the second day of the three-day BMW Dallas Marathon Weekend of Events. The courses wind through downtown Dallas and the surrounding areas. These races will use the same start/finish line and post-race festivities footprint as the BMW Dallas Marathon. The start/finish will be on City Hall Plaza/Marilla Street. Event setup for the entire weekends’ activities is detailed on the Friday night event permit. Teardown will be complete by 5 p.m. on Dec. 16. Street closure apparatus will be removed by midnight Dec. 16. City Hall Garage access via Akard Street will be open for city employees, event VIPs, volunteers and board members from 6 a.m. December 14 through noon Dec. 14. City Hall Horseshoe parking will close from 5 p.m. Dec. 13 to 10 p.m. Dec. 15.
The routes include rolling closures; streets will close 15 minutes ahead of participants and reopen as the last participant passes through.
The 10K at 8:30 a.m. will start at Marilla Street /Akard Street proceed west, left on Young Street, right on Market Street, left on Main Street straight on to Commerce Street, right on Riverfront Boulevard, left on Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge, U-Turn before crossing over the Trinity River, return eastbound on Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge, right on Riverfront Boulevard, left on Commerce Street /Main Street, right on Walton Street, right on Commerce Street, left on S. Good Latimer Expressway, right on Canton Street, proceed on Young Street, left on Ervay Street, right on Marilla Street to the finish line.
The 5K at 8:45 a.m.. will start at Marilla Street /Akard Street proceed west, left on Young Street, right on S. Lamar Street, right on Main Street, right on Walton Street, right on Commerce Street, left on S. Good Latimer Expressway, right on Canton Street, proceed on Young Street, left on Ervay Street, right on Marilla Street to the finish line.
The 2-Mile Walk at 9 a.m. will start at Marilla Street /Akard Street proceed west, left on Young Street, right on Wood Street, right on S. Lamar Street, right on Main Street, right on Cesar Chavez Boulevard, right on Canton Street, proceed on Young Street, left on Ervay Street, right on Marilla Street to the finish line.
Kids Races (200, 400 and 800-meter) will start at 10 a.m. and will travel around City Hall Plaza.

Deep Ellum Outdoor Market 18 @ Deep Ellum

Deep Ellum Community Association is hosting their monthly outdoor arts and crafts market. This free event includes live music, amplified sound and vendors. Merchandise, food, and beverage (nonalcoholic) and will be sold. Parking Meters will be hooded at 100-199 N. Crowdus Street from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Setup begins at 10 a.m. with the erection of tents (thirty-five – 10’x10’), a generator and a PA system. Teardown will be complete and street closure apparatus will be removed by 6:30 p.m.

BMW Dallas Marathon 2019 @ City Hall Plaza

The final day of the three-day BMW Dallas BMW Dallas Marathon Event includes a Marathon (26.2 miles), Half-marathon, Ultra-marathon (50K) and a Marathon relay. These races take place in downtown Dallas and the surrounding areas. The start/finish line and post-race festivities will be on City Hall Plaza/Marilla Street. Food, beverage (alcoholic) and merchandise will be sold. Setup is detailed on the Friday night event permit. Teardown will be complete by 5 p.m. on Dec. 16. Street closure apparatus will be removed by midnight Dec. 16. City Hall Garage access via Akard Street will be open for city employee, and event VIP, volunteer and board member parking from 6 a.m. through 4 p.m. Dec. 15. City Hall Horseshoe parking will close from 5 p.m. Dec. 13 to 10 p.m. Dec. 15. Ten stages (8’x8) with live music will be erected along Sunday’s route. The route includes rolling closures; streets will close 15 minutes ahead of participants and reopen as the last participant passes through. Please note, due to the distance and length of the races, streets towards the second half of the route may be closed for most of the day.
The runners will be released in waves beginning at 8:25 a.m. through 9:15 a.m.
