Reunion Tower Operations are hosting their annual Reunion Tower New Year’s Eve firework show on Reunion Lawn. The event will require a full street closure of Hotel St from Reunion Blvd E. to Memorial Drive; Sports St. from North Dr. to Memorial Drive from 8 p.m. until 12:45 a.m. Street closure at Reunion Blvd/Reunion Blvd East (South Side); Sports St/Parking Lot Entrance at North Dr.; Hotel St/Reunion Blvd E. (North Side); In between Hyatt Regency Dallas/Reunion Tower from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Set-up starts at 8 a.m. with amplified sound at 12 a.m. and teardown completed by 12 p.m. January 1, 2019. The projected attendance is 1,000.
Happiest Hour are hosting their annual New Year’s Eve Party located in the Oak Lawn area. The event is a private property and will require registration/tickets to participate. Alcohol beverage will be sold during the event. Set-up on Dec. 26 at 10 a.m. which includes the erection of tents (one-30×70) (one-20×25) (one-10×50) (one-50×40) (one-40×40), eight tent heaters, propane gas cylinders, tables, chairs, and performance by a DJ inside the facility. Four tents will be located within the perimeter and one tent will be located on the second-floor patio and amplified sound at 9 p.m. in one location and should not exceed 10 p.m. Teardown will be completed no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2019. Community Beer Company celebrates its 6th Anniversary at the brewery with specialty beers on tap, live music and food trucks. A 40’x60’ tent will be erected. Set-up will begin at Noon Jan. 18, 2019 and teardown will be completed by Noon Jan. 20, 2019. No street closures are required.
This annual religious procession and pro-life rally begins with a staging on Crocket Street where food trucks will serve food and non-alcoholic beverages as participants arrive. Set-up will begin at 7 a.m. and will require street closures, for the staging, on Flora Street and Ross Street from N. Pearl Street to Leonard Street and will include Crockett Street between Flora Street and Ross Street. The march will begin at Cathedral Guadalupe Catholic Church and proceed to a private parking lot at the corner of Jackson Street and S. Griffin Street where a rally will take place. Starting at noon, closures will begin only during the process and recess of the march along the route including Flora Street between N. Pearl Street and Crockett Street, the procession will go northeast on Flora Street to Crocket Street, southwest on Crockett Street to Ross Avenue where the procession will go Southeast on Ross Avenue to N. St. Paul Street to Wood Street where the procession will turn east where the route will end in the parking lot at the corner of Wood Street and S. Griffin Street. Closures will open as soon as the procession passes. The procession will then return back to the starting point. There are no tents. There will be a single 12’X16’X24” stage on the parking lot property and amplified sound in one area beginning at 11 a.m. Tear down will occur immediately following the event and is expected to be completed by 3 p.m. Estimated attendance is 10,000.
The Dallas Women’s March are hosting their 3rd annual event that will activate at Saint Paul United Methodist Church located at 1816 Routh Street and conclude on City Hall Plaza. Set-up begins at 10 a.m. with a mobile stage (6’ X 6’ X 36”) with a ramp, audio equipment for the speakers and DJ, music will be played as the marchers enter City Hall Plaza, a generator, barricaded staging area using bike racks where guest speakers are to be housed, 14-18 table booths for vendors located along the periphery of the small horseshoe encircling the stairs on that corner, not blocking the stairs or the sidewalks. Two to three tables will set up by the flag poles to collect donations and sale merchandise. There will be approximately 30 chairs in front of the stage to provide seating for disabled individuals. A second rest area for disabled individuals, and a quiet space, will be set up near the tabling section. Pick-up for individuals with a disability will be encouraged to occur from the horseshoe at the back (southern aspect) of City Hall and amplified sound beginning at 3:00 p.m. Bottle water, cookies or candy will be given to attendees for free throughout the event. Approximately 12 speakers will be speaking for approximately 3 minutes each at the rally at the end of the march, to be held at City Hall Plaza. No food or beverage will be provided. Tear down and final clean-up will begin immediately following the event and is expected to be completed by 6:30 p.m. Street closures from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: Northbound S. Akard St. between Canton and Young St.; Southbound Browder St. between Young and Canton St. Parking Garage on Young St. will be restricted day of the event from 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.; Entrance to Parking Garage for S. Akard begins at 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.; Parking Garage exit on Browder St. begins at 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. The projected number of participants is 4,000. Only the activities on City Hall Plaza are included in this Special Event Permit. The Dallas Women’s March is a First Amendment Activity and as such the following details will be permitted by the Dallas Police Department. The March will begin at 2 p.m. The staging area for the march will be at Saint Paul United Methodist Church located at 1816 Routh Street. The march will go west on Flora Street to North Harwood continue south to Ross Avenue and continue west on Ross Avenue to South Griffin Street. The march will continue south on South Griffin Street to Young Street and continue east on Young Street to South Akard Street ending at City Hall Plaza. The current route will not restrict access to the convention center. The route will allow traffic southbound from Griffin and Young Street to the convention center. Lamar will remain open both north and south lanes which will also allow traffic into lower A/B, Lower C and Lower D/E.
