Invasion Car Show
Sep 2 @ 10:00 am – 10:00 pm

This annual event is a display of classic and vintage cars to be held at 2709 Elm St. It will require closing of Elm St. from Good Latimer to S. Malcolm X and Crowdus St. from Main to Indiana from 7:00am to 11:59pm on this date. It will also require the south side lane of Elm open from Malcolm X to Crowdus (access to Onsite Parking). Setup will begin at 7am on Sept. 2, 2017 and teardown will be completed by 11:59pm Sept 2, 2017. All outside music must be turned off by 10:00 pm. The projected attendance is 3,000.

Corn Hole Tournament @ Omni Hotel Lawn
Sep 2 @ 11:00 am – 9:00 pm

This annual event is a Corn Hole Tournament on Pegasus Lawn to celebrate the beginning of college football. There will be food and alcoholic beverages. The event will take place on the lawn of the Omni Hotel. A 10’X6’X12 stage and 20’X20′ tent will be erected. Setup will begin at 7:00am and teardown will take place immediately after the event. The event will require no street closures. The projected attendance is 400.

College Football Season Opening Watch Party
Sep 2 @ 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm

This event is a watch college football watching party hosted by the McKinney Avenue Tavern. Food and alcoholic beverages will be sold. A 20’X15′ tent will be erected for the event. Setup will begin at 10:00am on Saturday September 2, 2017 and teardown will be immediately after the event. This event will require no street closures. The projected total attendance is 200.

Riverfront Jazz Festival @ Texas Horse Park
Sep 2 @ 1:00 pm – 11:30 pm

This event is a two and a half day jazz festival hosted by The Black Academy of  Arts and Letters. The festival will feature arts and crafts vendors and over fifty national, international, and regional musicians performing on three stages. The event will require closing Pemberton Hill between Sarah Lee and Elam, with partial closures at Jeanne, Lucy, and Hoddle. Food and alcoholic beverages will be sold. Setup for the event will begin at 12:00pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 and teardown will be on Monday, September 4 at 8:00am. Tents and three stages will be erected for the event. The projected attendance is 5,000 daily.

Festival San Juan Diego #9

This event is the annual church festival and the continuation of a fundraising effort for the San Juan Diego Catholic Church. The funds are being raised for their parking lot, which is under construction, and other annual church expenses. The event will involve selling food such as gorditas, nachos, and tacos each Sunday in the patio of the Church for members of the church and the community. There will be six 8’x8′ tents erected. Food and beverages will be sold. The event will require no street closures. The projected total attendance each Sunday is 300. On Saturday September 2, 2017 only expects 3000.

Festival San Juan Diego #9

Labor of Love
Sep 3 @ 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm

This annual event is a home-brew competition hosted by the Deep Ellum Brewing Company. The event will involve having home-brew makers being judged on various categories.  There will be live music for entertainment.  Food and alcoholic beverages will be sold by onsite food trucks, and tables and chairs will be set up for consumers.  The event will require closing St. Louis Street from Malcolm X to Crowdus.  The projected total attendance is 500.

Fiestas Patrias
Sep 3 @ 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm

This annual event is in celebration of Mexican Independence Day sponsored by CBS Radio. The event will feature top regional Mexican musicians, food vendors, children’s activities and fun for the whole family. Fifteen tents ranging in size from 10’X10′ up to 20’X20’tents will be erected. A 24’X32’X4′ stage will also be erected. Setup will begin Sept. 1 at 8:00am and tear down will begin immediately after the event. Food and alcoholic beverages will be sold. The event will require closing North Drive from Sports St. to Hotel Dr. from 8:00am Sept 2 to 10:00pm Sept. 3 2017. Traffic may be impacted on the following streets ( Sports St. Reunion Blvd, Hyatt Regency, and Hotel Dr.) – The projected total attendance is 8,000.

Delman Circus Show
Sep 3 @ 9:30 pm – 10:30 pm

This annual event is a family circus with clowns and acrobatic acts. The show also includes jugglers and comedy.  No animals will be present at this event.  A large tent (100 feet in diameter) and one stage (2 ½ feet high and 30 feet wide) will be erected for the event.  Food, beverages, and merchandise will be sold. Setup will begin at 8;00 a.m. on August 10, 2017 and teardown will be Sept. 5, 2017. The event will require no street closures.  The projected daily attendance is 175.
