Sidewalk Sale
Sep 1 @ 9:00 pm – Sep 2 @ 2:00 pm

This monthly event is an electronics computer swap meet that will be held at the locations of 2100 N. Houston Street and 501 N. Houston Street. In addition to electronics, vendors will sell computers, peripherals, software, ham radios, personal electronics, accessories, office equipment appliances furniture, general merchandise, jewelry, accessories, etc. Food and beverages will also be sold.  Setup for the event will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, and teardown will be at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017.  This event will require no street closures.  The projected maximum attendance is 300.

Riverfront Jazz Festival @ Texas Horse Park
Sep 1 @ 7:30 pm – 11:30 pm

This event is a two and a half day jazz festival hosted by The Black Academy of  Arts and Letters. The festival will feature arts and crafts vendors and over fifty national, international, and regional musicians performing on three stages. The event will require closing Pemberton Hill between Sarah Lee and Elam, with partial closures at Jeanne, Lucy, and Hoddle. Food and alcoholic beverages will be sold. Setup for the event will begin at 12:00pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 and teardown will be on Monday, September 4 at 8:00am. Tents and three stages will be erected for the event. The projected attendance is 5,000 daily.

St. Micheal’s Farmers Market @ Saint Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church (north parking lot)
Sep 2 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

This event is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by Nancy Wilbur to occur on the property of the Saint Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church (north parking lot) at 8011 Douglas Avenue.

The Saint Michaels Farmers Market will consist of up to 30 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produced foods and goods on the Saturdays, noted below. The applicant will provide electrical power to some of its vendors, if needed. A group of volunteers will staff a welcome booth to answer questions and to help vendors & shoppers. This event will not require street or lane closures and all parking will take place in the north parking lot. Set up will begin at 6:30am and teardown at 12:00pm.

Tyler Street Farmers Market @ Tyler Street Tower parking lot

This event is a New Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by L. Arielle Richman to occur on the property of the Tyler Street Tower parking lot at 927 W. 10th street. The market operator is Good Local Markets.

The Tyler Street Farmers Market will consist of up to 50 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produced foods and goods. This event will not require street or lane closures and all parking will take place on approved parking areas. Set up will begin just prior to 8:00am and teardown at 1:00pm.

White Rock Farmers Market @ Lake Pointe Church (parking lot)
Sep 2 @ 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

This event is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by Good Local Markets to occur on the property of Lake Pointe Church (parking lot) at 9150 Garland Road.

The White Rock Farmers Market will consist of up to 70 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produced foods and goods on the Saturdays, noted below. The applicant will provide electrical power to some of its vendors, if needed. This event will not require street or lane closures and all parking will take place in the parking lot. Set up will begin at 6:00am and teardown at 1:00pm.

Crescent Court Farmers Market @ Hotel Crescent Court
Sep 2 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

This is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by Crescent TC Investors LP to occur on 500 Crescent Court. The market site will be contained within the Atrium of the Crescent Properties, on the north side.

The market hours of the Crescent Court Farmers Market are from 10:00am – 3:00pm. Public parking is available within the Crescent Parking Garage. The Crescent Court Farmers Market will occur on the first Saturday of each month.

The Crescent Court Farmers Market will consist of no more than 70 vendors that will set up booths, tents and tables to sell locally grown produced foods and goods.

Invasion Car Show
Sep 2 @ 10:00 am – 10:00 pm

This annual event is a display of classic and vintage cars to be held at 2709 Elm St. It will require closing of Elm St. from Good Latimer to S. Malcolm X and Crowdus St. from Main to Indiana from 7:00am to 11:59pm on this date. It will also require the south side lane of Elm open from Malcolm X to Crowdus (access to Onsite Parking). Setup will begin at 7am on Sept. 2, 2017 and teardown will be completed by 11:59pm Sept 2, 2017. All outside music must be turned off by 10:00 pm. The projected attendance is 3,000.

Corn Hole Tournament @ Omni Hotel Lawn
Sep 2 @ 11:00 am – 9:00 pm

This annual event is a Corn Hole Tournament on Pegasus Lawn to celebrate the beginning of college football. There will be food and alcoholic beverages. The event will take place on the lawn of the Omni Hotel. A 10’X6’X12 stage and 20’X20′ tent will be erected. Setup will begin at 7:00am and teardown will take place immediately after the event. The event will require no street closures. The projected attendance is 400.

College Football Season Opening Watch Party
Sep 2 @ 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm

This event is a watch college football watching party hosted by the McKinney Avenue Tavern. Food and alcoholic beverages will be sold. A 20’X15′ tent will be erected for the event. Setup will begin at 10:00am on Saturday September 2, 2017 and teardown will be immediately after the event. This event will require no street closures. The projected total attendance is 200.
