L.G. Pinkston Homecoming Parade
Sep 16 @ 11:00 am – Sep 19 @ 12:00 pm

This annual homecoming parade starts at L. G. Pinkston High School, 2200 Dennison Street. Line-up will begin at 10:00 am and the parade starts at 11:00 a.m. proceeds east on Dennison St., left on Vilbig Rd., left on Bickers St., left on Goldman Ave. back to Pinkston High School finish and disperse.  The projected attendance is 100.

Fall Festival
Sep 17 @ 10:30 am – 5:00 pm

This annual event is a school carnival that is a fundraiser for the All Saints Catholic School located at 5231 Meadowcreek Drive. Several booths will be set up for assorted games and entertainment, there will also be a petting zoo on site.  Food and alcoholic beverages will be sold. A 12’x24’x2’ stage will be erected for the event.  Setup for the event will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017, and teardown will be immediately following the event.  The event will require no street closures.  The projected total attendance is 900.

Woody’s Pride Backlot Party
Sep 17 @ 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm

This event is a party hosted by Dallas Woody’s that will take place simultaneously with the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade. The party will consist of two outdoor service areas being set up.  The first area will have two bars that would be set up in the parking lot.  The second area will be one bar that will be set up on the enclosed back patio.  The service area in the parking lot would be covered by two tents measuring 10’x10’.  There will also be a DJ to play music during the event.  The DJ area will consist of a 10’x10’ shade tent for the DJ and another for the MC/Host plus 2-4 ground based speakers, amp, mixing board, video monitor, mp3 player, CD player, two microphones, electrical power, and a trailer used as a stage.  Three bleachers/grandstands will also be erected for the event.  Food and alcoholic beverages will be sold. 10’x10 tents will be located through out the parking lot and at both entrances to provide shade. An 8’x16’x18” stage will be erected for the event.  There will be no street closures requested.  The projected total attendance is 200.

Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade & Music Festival in the Park
Sep 17 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

This annual event is the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) pride celebration for the north Texas area, and comprises two distinct functions. The Festival will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, in Reverchon Park from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will require no street closures. Two music stages and tents 10’x10’ and 10’x20’ will be erected in Reverchon Park. Food, alcoholic beverages, and merchandise will be sold. Projected total attendance for the Festival is 9,000. The Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The northeastbound lanes of Wycliff between Maple and Cedar Springs, all lanes of Cedar Springs between Wycliff and Douglas, and the northeastbound lanes of Douglas between Cedar Springs and Lemmon will be closed for parade staging from 9:45 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. All lanes of Cedar Springs between Douglas and Oak Lawn will be closed between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. for the parade, with cross traffic prohibited from reaching Cedar Springs Road on Douglas (both sides), Knight (both sides), Throckmorton (both sides), and Reagan Street (both sides). All lanes of Cedar Springs between Oak Lawn and Turtle Creek will be closed between 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. for the parade dispersal, with cross traffic prohibited from reaching Cedar Springs on Welborn Street (both sides), Hood (both sides), and Sale (both sides); cross traffic on Oak Lawn will be intermittently controlled.  Three 24’x12’x24’ announcer stands will be erected on Cedar Springs between Wycliff and Oak Lawn. Projected total attendance for the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade is 30,000.

 

Festival San Juan Diego #9
Sep 17 @ 9:00 am – 9:00 pm

This event is the annual church festival and the continuation of a fundraising effort for the San Juan Diego Catholic Church. The funds are being raised for their parking lot, which is under construction, and other annual church expenses. The event will involve selling food such as gorditas, nachos, and tacos each Sunday in the patio of the Church for members of the church and the community. There will be six 8’x8′ tents erected. Food and beverages will be sold. The event will require no street closures. The projected total attendance each Sunday is 300. On Saturday September 2, 2017 only expects 3000.

Sewell Golf Classic
Sep 18 @ 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

This event is an annual golf tournament fundraiser for Buckner International.  Golfers will participate in the morning and afternoon rounds with lunch in between.  The event will take place at the Bent Tree Country Club at 5201 Westgrove Drive.  A 40’x60’ tent will be erected for the event.  The event will require no street closures.  The projected attendance is 220.

Templo Betania Revival

This event is an outside revival that will be held for five days in the Templo Betania parking lot. Two 10’x10’ tents and 12’x14’x36” stage will be erected for the event. Setup will begin Sept. 18 at 5pm and teardown will be Sept. 22 after the event. This event will require no street closures. The projected attendance is 800.

Casa Linda Market
Sep 20 @ 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm

This is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by the Four Seasons Market LLC to occur on the property of Casa Linda (Edens) LLC at 9440 Garland Road, parking lot.

The Casa Linda Market hours are from 3:00pm – 7:00pm, setup begins at 1:00pm and teardown at 7:00pm. The market will occur every Wednesday of each month through December.

The market will consist of no more than 35 vendors that will set up booths, tents and tables to sell locally grown produced foods and goods.
