Freedom Run
Sep 16 @ 8:00 am – 2:00 pm

This annual event is a 5K that will benefit the Assist the Officer Foundation.  The 5K course starts at 8:00am on Gateway Plaza at the west end of the Pedestrian Bridge. It proceeds east across the bridge to the turnaround point #1, u-turns west across the bridge, turns right north and northeast on the entry trail to the Trinity Skyline Trail, proceeds into the Trinity River bottoms southeast down the concrete ramp, proceeds south, east, north, west, north and east on the concrete Trinity Skyline Trail to the turnaround point #2, u-turns west, south, east, south, west and north on the concrete Trinity Skyline Trail and finishes on the trail between the Pedestrian Bridge and the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in the river bottoms. An alternate route on surface roads will be used in the event of inclement weather, progressing northwest in the westbound lanes of Canada, northeast across the Sylvan Bridge in the rightmost eastbound lanes of Sylvan, to u-turn and return back to the Gateway. Alcoholic beverages will be served. A 20’x40’ tent and 20’x24’x4” stage will be erected. Setup will begin at 5:00am Sept. 16 and teardown will be immediately after the event. The projected number of participants is 800.

Tyler Street Farmers Market @ Tyler Street Tower parking lot
Sep 16 @ 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

This event is a New Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by L. Arielle Richman to occur on the property of the Tyler Street Tower parking lot at 927 W. 10th street. The market operator is Good Local Markets.

The Tyler Street Farmers Market will consist of up to 50 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produced foods and goods. This event will not require street or lane closures and all parking will take place on approved parking areas. Set up will begin just prior to 8:00am and teardown at 1:00pm.

White Rock Farmers Market @ Lake Pointe Church (parking lot)
Sep 16 @ 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

This event is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by Good Local Markets to occur on the property of Lake Pointe Church (parking lot) at 9150 Garland Road.

The White Rock Farmers Market will consist of up to 70 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produced foods and goods on the Saturdays, noted below. The applicant will provide electrical power to some of its vendors, if needed. This event will not require street or lane closures and all parking will take place in the parking lot. Set up will begin at 6:00am and teardown at 1:00pm.

Bryan Adams High School Homecoming Parade
Sep 16 @ 9:00 am – 11:30 am

This annual homecoming parade starts at Bryan Adams High School, 2101 Millmar Drive. The parade will start at 9:00 a.m. and proceed east on Millmar Drive, north on Ferguson Road, east on Gus Thomason Road, south on Shiloh Road, and west on Millmar Drive back to Bryan Adams High School parking lot finish and disperse.  Setup/line up for the parade will begin at 7:300 a.m.  The projected attendance is 1,000.

The Big D Family Festival
Sep 16 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

This new event is a family festival which includes two activities for families. The Trinity River Ramble is a kid friendly bike ride and the Dallas Stroller Dash is a walk and run for families with strollers. Both events will follow the same 4.5-mile route on the paved Trinity Skyline Trail on the east side of the Trinity River. It will not require any street closures. The projected attendance is 100.

Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade & Music Festival in the Park
Sep 16 @ 11:00 am – 7:00 pm

This annual event is the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) pride celebration for the north Texas area, and comprises two distinct functions. The Festival will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, in Reverchon Park from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will require no street closures. Two music stages and tents 10’x10’ and 10’x20’ will be erected in Reverchon Park. Food, alcoholic beverages, and merchandise will be sold. Projected total attendance for the Festival is 9,000. The Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017, beginning at 2:00 p.m. The north eastbound lanes of Wycliff between Maple and Cedar Springs, all lanes of Cedar Springs between Wycliff and Douglas, and the northeastbound lanes of Douglas between Cedar Springs and Lemmon will be closed for parade staging from 9:45 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. All lanes of Cedar Springs between Douglas and Oak Lawn will be closed between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. for the parade, with cross traffic prohibited from reaching Cedar Springs Road on Douglas (both sides), Knight (both sides), Throckmorton (both sides), and Reagan Street (both sides). All lanes of Cedar Springs between Oak Lawn and Turtle Creek will be closed between 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. for the parade dispersal, with cross traffic prohibited from reaching Cedar Springs on Welborn Street (both sides), Hood (both sides), and Sale (both sides); cross traffic on Oak Lawn will be intermittently controlled.  Three 24’x12’x24’ announcer stands will be erected on Cedar Springs between Wycliff and Oak Lawn. Projected total attendance for the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade is 30,000.

 

Fall Festival
Sep 16 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

This annual event is a school carnival that is a fundraiser for the All Saints Catholic School located at 5231 Meadowcreek Drive. Several booths will be set up for assorted games and entertainment, there will also be a petting zoo on site.  Food and alcoholic beverages will be sold. A 12’x24’x2’ stage will be erected for the event.  Setup for the event will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017, and teardown will be immediately following the event.  The event will require no street closures.  The projected total attendance is 900.

L.G. Pinkston Homecoming Parade
Sep 16 @ 11:00 am – Sep 19 @ 12:00 pm

This annual homecoming parade starts at L. G. Pinkston High School, 2200 Dennison Street. Line-up will begin at 10:00 am and the parade starts at 11:00 a.m. proceeds east on Dennison St., left on Vilbig Rd., left on Bickers St., left on Goldman Ave. back to Pinkston High School finish and disperse.  The projected attendance is 100.

Deep Ellum Outdoor Market
Sep 16 @ 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

This event is a one-day, arts and crafts market hosted by the Deep Ellum Community Association. Recorded and live music will be available for entertainment.  Setup for the event will begin at 8:00 a.m. on September 16th, and teardown will be immediately following the event.   The event will require closing the 101-199 blocks of N. Crowdus between Main and Elm Street. Twenty to twenty -five 10’x10’ tents will be erected for the event.  The projected total attendance is 200.

 

Canelo Fight
Sep 16 @ 6:00 pm – 12:00 am

This event is a watch party of the Canelo Fight hosted by Ojos Locos Sports Cantina. The event will take place in a fenced in area in the parking lot at 10230 Technology. Food and alcoholic beverages will be sold. Setup will begin at 8:00 a.m., Sept. 16 and teardown will be Sept. 17, 2017. There will be no street closures. The projected attendance is 200.
