This event is the annual church festival and the continuation of a fundraising effort for the San Juan Diego Catholic Church. The funds are being raised for their parking lot, which is under construction, and other annual church expenses. The event will involve selling food such as gorditas, nachos, and tacos each Sunday in the patio of the Church for members of the church and the community. There will be six 8’x8′ tents erected. Food and beverages will be sold. The event will require no street closures. The projected total attendance each Sunday is 300. On Saturday September 2, 2017 only expects 3000.

This annual event is an event in which metered parking spaces on Main St. will be temporarily transformed allowing employees and residents to socialize in re-envisioned public spaces. Programming for the event will include ambient street performers, landscaping, café furniture and popup libraries. 10’x10’ tents will be erected. It will require closing the parking meter lane on north and south Main Street from Harwood to Griffin from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. this date. Vehicular traffic will be allowed on the center lanes of Main and on all cross streets. The projected attendance is 1,000.
This annual event is a Fiesta Patrias Festival held at the Latino Cultural Center. There will be an array of art activities and performances, food and beverages will be available. As 16’x24’x36” stage will be erected. This event will require closing the 2600 and 2700 block of Florence St. Setup will begin at 4:00 p.m. Sept. 15, 2017 and teardown will be after the event. The projected attendance is 1,000.
This event is a yearly celebration hosted by the Consulate General of Mexico. The celebration consists of an official ceremony to celebrate the 207 Anniversary of the Independence of Mexico. The event will have a program that involves cultural activities and a formal/official ceremony. Remarks will be made afterwards, followed by the Grito Ceremony which will include American and Mexican National flags and anthems. Entertainment will include mariachi bands, Ballet Floklorico, and other musical groups. Food, beverages, and merchandise will be sold. A 20’x24’x24” stage will be erected for the event. Setup will begin at 1:00 p.m., Sept. 15 and teardown will be following the event. The event will require no street closures. The projected attendance is 2,000.
This annual event is a 5K that will benefit the Assist the Officer Foundation. The 5K course starts at 8:00am on Gateway Plaza at the west end of the Pedestrian Bridge. It proceeds east across the bridge to the turnaround point #1, u-turns west across the bridge, turns right north and northeast on the entry trail to the Trinity Skyline Trail, proceeds into the Trinity River bottoms southeast down the concrete ramp, proceeds south, east, north, west, north and east on the concrete Trinity Skyline Trail to the turnaround point #2, u-turns west, south, east, south, west and north on the concrete Trinity Skyline Trail and finishes on the trail between the Pedestrian Bridge and the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in the river bottoms. An alternate route on surface roads will be used in the event of inclement weather, progressing northwest in the westbound lanes of Canada, northeast across the Sylvan Bridge in the rightmost eastbound lanes of Sylvan, to u-turn and return back to the Gateway. Alcoholic beverages will be served. A 20’x40’ tent and 20’x24’x4” stage will be erected. Setup will begin at 5:00am Sept. 16 and teardown will be immediately after the event. The projected number of participants is 800.

The White Rock Farmers Market will consist of up to 70 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produced foods and goods on the Saturdays, noted below. The applicant will provide electrical power to some of its vendors, if needed. This event will not require street or lane closures and all parking will take place in the parking lot. Set up will begin at 6:00am and teardown at 1:00pm.
This annual homecoming parade starts at Bryan Adams High School, 2101 Millmar Drive. The parade will start at 9:00 a.m. and proceed east on Millmar Drive, north on Ferguson Road, east on Gus Thomason Road, south on Shiloh Road, and west on Millmar Drive back to Bryan Adams High School parking lot finish and disperse. Setup/line up for the parade will begin at 7:300 a.m. The projected attendance is 1,000.
