Mobile Hospital Showcase
Oct 1 @ 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

Operation Smile will showcase its Mobile Hospital to the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Annual General Convention at the Omni Dallas Hotel. Convention guest will be invited onboard the trailers to learn about this effort to provide free reconstructive surgery to 10,000 children over 5 years living in Mexico with cleft lip and cleft palate facial deformities. The showcase will require closure of the two rightmost curbside lanes of eastbound Young, north of the Omni, between Market and Lamar, for the placement of three 53’x13’x9’ trailers with double sides pop-outs on both sides of the trailers. Setup will begin Sept. 27, 2017. The projected attendance is 200.

Festival San Juan Diego #10
Oct 1 @ 10:00 am – 9:00 pm

This monthly event is the continuation of a fundraising effort for the San Juan Diego Catholic Church.  The funds are being raised to build a parochial house.  The event will involve selling food such as gorditas, nachos, and tacos each Sunday in the patio of the Church for members of the church and the community. There will be six 8’x8’ tents erected. Food and beverages will be sold.  The event will require no street closures.  The projected total attendance each Sunday is 300.

LifeWalk 2017
Oct 1 @ 11:00 am – 4:00 pm

This annual event is a 5K run and walk-a-thon to benefit AIDS research. The event will raise funds for HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, and services. The festival will require closing the curbside lane only of southbound Turtle Creek between Lemmon and Hall from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. for deliveries, then all southbound lanes of Turtle Creek Blvd. between Lemmon and Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for event and post-event. The walk will start inside Lee Park and will start going north on Turtle Creek Blvd at 1:00 pm. As the walk crosses Lemmon Ave, all lanes will be closed off at Turtle Creek Blvd, both north and south bound. As the walk continues north on Turtle Creek Blvd, the far two right lanes of North bound Turtle Creek will be closed for participants. The two lanes will remain closed until 2:15p.m. As the walk continues up to the intersection of Stonebridge Dr, north bound Turtle Creek will be closed down to just having the far-right lane closed. The walk continues East onto Avondale/Fitzhugh, with the far-right lane to be closed off for walkers. When the walk reaches the intersection of Cole and Fitzhugh, the route turns south onto Cole. The far-right lane will be closed off for participants. This continues to Carlisle to Cedar Springs. The route then turns north back onto the North bound Turtle Creek Blvd with the far right north bound lane is closed. The walk reaches back to Hall at Turtle Creek and returns to Lee Park.  There will be dj music, food and alcoholic beverages will be sold in Robert E. Lee Park.  Two 60’x20’, two 50’x20’, three 40’x20’ and four 10’x10’ tents will be erected; an 8’x16’x24” stage will also be erected for this event. The projected number of participants is 2,000.

Looking for Home Opening
Oct 1 @ 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

This new event is street party hosted by Encore Park Dallas. There will be live music, street performances. Food and beverages will be available.  It will require closing Park Ave. between Marilla and Young from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The projected attendance is 400.

St. Augustine Church Fall Carnival
Oct 4 @ 8:00 am – Oct 8 @ 9:00 pm

This annual event is a church carnival held on the parking lot of the St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1054 N. St. Augustine Road.  There will be a stage for live entertainment and games.  Food, beverages and merchandise will be sold. Setup for the event will begin Friday, Oct. 7, and teardown will be immediately after the event. The event will require no street closures. The projected attendance is 3,500.

Casa Linda Market
Oct 4 @ 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm

This is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by the Four Seasons Market LLC to occur on the property of Casa Linda (Edens) LLC at 9440 Garland Road, parking lot.

The Casa Linda Market hours are from 3:00pm – 7:00pm, setup begins at 1:00pm and teardown at 7:00pm. The market will occur every Wednesday of each month through December.

The market will consist of no more than 35 vendors that will set up booths, tents and tables to sell locally grown produced foods and goods.

Walk of Remembrance @ Sheraton Hotel
Oct 4 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

This new event is a walk to honor those who have died from their burn injuries and to offer a time to remember our own losses related to burn injuries. The walk will start at the Sheraton Hotel westbound on Live Oak west of N. Olive., turn right southbound on N. St. Paul to enter Main Street Garden, where there will be a brief ceremony then walkers will return northbound on N. St. Paul, turn right eastbound on Live Oak to finish at the Sheraton. Projected attendance is 600.

Treasure Street 2017
Oct 4 @ 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm

This annual event is a silent and live auction charity event benefiting the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children that will be held at Old Parkland. A 30’x40’, two 10’x40’, two 10’x80’ and two 20’x40’ tents will be erected on private property for the auction.  A 20’x24’x30” stage will also be erected for the event. Food and alcoholic beverages will be served. Set-up will begin Mon., Oct. 16, 2017 and removed Fri., Oct. 20, 2017. It will require no street closures. The projected attendance is 1,100.

Dallas Seminar 2017
Oct 5 @ 11:00 am – 9:00 pm

This event is professional conference for Chiropractors that will take place at Parker University. The event will require erecting two large tents (50’x100’ and a 16’x70’) and a 22’x16’x46” stage. Food and alcoholic beverages will be provided for the attendees. Setup will begin at 8:00 a.m., Oct. 2 and teardown will be Oct. 8, 2017. No street closures will be required, attendees will be bused in. The projected attendance is 1,000.
