1st Saturday Sidewalk Sale

This monthly event is an electronics computer swap meet that will be held at the locations of 2100 N. Houston Street and 501 N. Houston Street.  In addition to electronics, vendors will sell computers, peripherals, software, ham radios, personal electronics, accessories, office equipment appliances furniture, general merchandise, jewelry, accessories, etc. Food and beverages will also be sold.  Setup for the event will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016, and teardown will be at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016.  This event will require no street closures.  The projected maximum attendance is 300.

Lakeside Farmers Market
Sep 3 @ 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

This event is a Neighborhood Farmers Market hosted by Good Local Markets, Inc. to occur on the property of the Lakeside Baptist Church (parking lot) at 9150 Garland Road.

The Lakeside Farmers Market will occur on specific Saturdays of the month from March to December 2016. The market will consist of no more than 70 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produce foods and goods.

This event will not require street or lane closures and all parking will take place in approved parking areas.

Oak Cliff Lions Club Farmers Market
Sep 3 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

The Oak Cliff Lions Club Farmers Market is a new Neighborhood Farmers Market which will occur every first Saturday of each month. The market will be held within the parking lot of the Cliff Temple Baptist Church and consist of up to 50 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produce foods and goods.

This event will not require street or lane closures and all parking will take place on approved parking areas.

Saint Michaels Farmers Market
Sep 3 @ 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

This event is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by Greg Pickens to occur on the property of the Saint Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church (north parking lot) at 8011 Douglas Avenue.

The Saint Michaels Farmers Market will consist of up to 20-35 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produce foods and goods on the Saturdays, listed. A group of volunteers staff and a welcome booth will be onsite to answer questions and to help vendors & shoppers. All parking will take place in the north parking lot of the church.

Car and Motorcycle Show
Sep 3 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

This new event is a community outreach and the opportunity for the community to see classic/vintage cars and motorcycle. The event will be held within church property. Small 10’x10’ tents will be erected for vendors. Food and beverages will be available. Setup and tear down will be the same day. The event will require no street closures. The projected attendance is 300.

The MarketPlace at St. Pius
Sep 3 @ 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

This event is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by Eventive Marketing Solutions to occur on the property of the St. Pius Catholic Church at 3030 Gus Thomasson Road. The site area is located next to the church. The MarketPlace at St. Pius will occur on specific Saturdays of the month from April to October 2016.

The MarketPlace at St. Pius will consist of up to 20-35 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produce foods and goods.

This event will not require street or lane closures and all parking will take place in approved parking areas.

Corn Hole Tournament
Sep 3 @ 10:00 am – 8:00 pm

This new event is a Corn Hole Tournament featuring food, alcoholic beverages and games. The event will take place on the lawn of the Omni Hotel. A 44’x44’x16’ tent will be erected. Setup will begin at 2:00 p.m., Sept. 2 and the tent will remain on the property for another event on Sept. 11, 2016.The event will require no street closures. The projected attendance is 400.

Invasion Car Show
Sep 3 @ 10:00 am – 10:00 pm

This annual event is a display of classic and vintage cars to be held at 2709 Elm St. A 12 x 12 stage will be erected on the parking lot for live entertainment (local bands) and food and beverages will be sold. There will be vendor’s booths, arts and craft and classic cars for display on Elm St. It will require closing Elm St. from Good Latimer to S. Malcolm X and Crowdus St. from Main to Indiana this date. It will also require keeping the south side lane of Elm open from Malcolm X to Crowdus (access to Onsite Parking). Setup will begin at 7am, Sept. 3, 2016 and teardown will be completed by 11:59 p.m., Sept. 3, 2016. All outside music must be turned off by10pm. The projected attendance is 3,000.

Vickery Meadow Market
Sep 3 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

This event is a Neighborhood Farmers Market organized by Good Local Markets, Inc. to occur in the parking lot of Half Price Books at 5803 E. Northwest Hwy, the market site is adjacent to Shady Brook Lane. The Vickery Meadow Market will occur every Saturday of the month from March to early December.

The Vickery Meadow Market will consist of no more than 70 vendors that will set up booths, tents (10×15) and tables to sell locally grown produce foods and goods. All parking will take place on approved parking areas.

Festival San Juan Diego #9
Sep 4 @ 9:00 am – 9:00 pm

This event is the annual church festival and the continuation of a fundraising effort for the San Juan Diego Catholic Church.  The funds are being raised for their parking lot which is under construction and for other annual church expenses.  The event will involve selling food such as gorditas, nachos, and tacos each Sunday in the patio of the Church for members of the church and the community. There will be six 8’x8’ tents erected. Food and beverages will be sold.  The event will require no street closures.  The projected total attendance each Sunday is 300.  On Sunday, September 4, 2016, there will be carnival rides, and entertainment by Church group choirs. Thirty 10’x10’ tents and one 10’x30’ tent will be erected for the event.  There will also be one 3’x20’x30’ stage.  The projected total attendance on Sunday September 4, 2016 only is 5000. The attendance for all other Sundays is 200.
